The Giant is a giant construction - originally made of wicker - representing a character, but above all it is an emblematic figure of Northern France! The Giants of the North appeared when the region was part of the Spanish Netherlands. They were paraded during religious processions, but today, there are all kinds of Giants of the North, each with their own name and history, and many cities in the North and in Belgium have them. If you want to have a closer look at this tradition, the Forum des Géants du Nord (which replaces the Giant Weekend) in Tourcoing is ideal because it will allow you to see dozens of giants in all their splendor.

Every two years, students from all over eastern France gather at the 24h de Stan to race around the Place Carrière on gigantic floats decorated according to a theme. Artistic shows, parades, games and tombolas are organized in parallel, and each school has a stand in the square. The atmosphere is good-natured, and the prizes awarded are mostly symbolic and humorous. The event ensures Nancy's reputation as a student city, as young people take over the city to celebrate student life in just 24 hours!

The association Santo Madaleno offers the evoke of scenes of rural life in Provence with Provence market, défilé parade, reconstitution of a playground, competition of bread, various animations…

Since January 2017 and under the aegis of the town hall of the 1st and 7th districts, the "Sundays of the Canebière" have been held on the most famous avenue of the Phocéenne city. Entirely pedestrianized, it is invaded by a crowd of curious people, a multitude of animations, groups, parades and becomes a market of local products and crafts, a record fair and much more. Each month, the edition adopts a different theme that delights young and old alike. A really nice and successful initiative to revitalize the city centre on Sundays.

Each year, the lesbian, gay, bi and trans festival of Reims is organized by the association Ex Aequo - between October and November. This year, the Festival celebrated its 10 th anniversary around the transvestite's figure. In the program, creation of the EU by a contemporary choreographer, debates, conferences, projections and concerts!

This exhibition, which is aimed at anyone who can join an LGBT association, takes place every year in early April, usually in the Espace des Blanc-Coats (4 ^th) in the Marais. Like champagne bubbles in crystal glass, colorful balloons slide into the Ciel sky. It is the rendezvous of dozens of balloons coming to compete for four days for the European Cup, which is only taking place in odd years. 2009 is the 16 th edition and the 20 th World Women's Cup.

Before the start of the school year, the inhabitants of this charming village welcome you for a night walk with lanterns. A very pleasant way to discover the streets of this typical village. In the alleys, on the botanical path, through the forest (1 km)... All along the route, activities are planned. Thus Snow White and the 7 dwarves will greet you during your visit. Paintings with hunters, a witch..... Before going for a walk, you have the opportunity to have dinner on the site of the arboriculture association.

For many years now, over half a million people have marched in the streets and squares every year during the Marche des Fiertés: lesbians, gays, bi and trans people, as well as straight people who campaign for respect for differences, all in a festive atmosphere. This unique event mobilises large numbers of people, not to defend rights or challenge policies, but first and foremost to propose a vision of society based on equality and respect.

Our Lady of the Bikers is a festive pilgrimage. Known throughout France and attracting bikers since 1953, the Madonna has grown over the years. A pilgrimage for some, it is also a festive occasion and a huge gathering of motorcyclists. The highlights are divided between religious celebrations (vespers at 5pm on the 14th, mass at 10am on the 15th, followed by the blessing of the motorcycles at 11.30am), rock concerts from the 14th to the evening interspersed with the torchlight vigil, and the ride on the 15th, through the Pays de l'Oust in Brocéliande.
