Begun in 1980 at the instigation of the Art and Music Association, the Music Festival of Ambronay wins every year. Created in 1989 by the artist's grandson, it is now directed by the opera singer Jean-Jacques Cubaynes. Inheriting the spirit of Déodat de Séverac, the programme of concerts, courses, conferences and exhibitions is based on popular art to celebrate the richness of Occitan culture.

The Marseille Operettas and musical theatre contest is a national and international competition organized by the municipality every year.
