"Mirror of the Prince - The Golden Age of Patronage in Autun (1425-1510)"

Following previous exhibitions such as Bologna and the Autun pontifical in 2012, From Goya to Delacroix, the artistic relations of the Guillemardet family in 2014 and Eve or the mad temptation in 2017, the Rolin Museum continues its exceptional collaboration with the Louvre Museum in order to prepare a new exhibition dedicated to the flamboyant artistic patronage of great Autun families of the late Middle Ages. Thanks to this collaboration, some beautiful works are on loan and can be presented in this temporary exhibition. The Prince's Mirror highlights the artistic commissions of the high dignitaries of the time, in the wake of Dukes Philip the Bold, John the Fearless, Philip the Good and Charles the Bold. Within the framework of the exceptional partnership with the Louvre Museum, sculptures, art objects and paintings will soon be on display at the Rolin Museum in Autun, but also in Chalon-sur-Saône at the Denon Museum.

This festival, which has animated Guingamp since the 19th century during the second half of August, has been devoted to Breton dances since 1957. During this event, both traditional and contemporary, you will attend the national championship of Breton dances, but also free initiations, costume parades, folklore shows, concerts, exhibitions, Breton wrestling tournaments... Without forgetting the traditional challenge of the dérobée, a typical dance of the city, and the inevitable fest-noz!

In Cognac, every September for almost 30 years, the street arts have been heating up the asphalt to the delight of spectators. Inventive, amusing and poetic, the artists make the back-to-school season a joyful one, from the Place ^{François-Ier} to the Jardin Public, via the courtyard of the museum, with acrobatics, music and hilarious, joyful and astonishing sketches. Over the course of three days, some fifteen shows will delight young and old alike! The festival is free of charge! Remember to make reservations for certain shows.

Each year the event allows to attend the races in town, animations, exhibitions of vehicles, tourist rally on the roads of Charente... Several categories of vehicles take part in this historical event: GT and tourisms before and after 1965, pre-war, the famous Bugatti plateau, Grand Prix cars from 1908 to 1954. Some vehicles take part in the concours d'élégance or in the state and restoration contest.

Espalion's local farmers' market is a not-to-be-missed summer event. Located right in the center of town, the market offers a convivial opportunity for visitors to talk to local producers and share a meal to live music. Tables are available for those who wish to sample the products on the spot. It's the ideal opportunity to discover the flavours of the region and support the local agricultural economy. The Mairie d'Espalion is the main partner of this event.

Sauveterre-de-Rouergue celebrates the products of the season: chestnuts and sweet cider. "La castagna", or chestnuts in Occitan, used to be part of the well-established ritual of family gatherings. So, for over 50 years, on the last Sunday in October, in the pretty setting of the Place des Arcades, you can enjoy roasted chestnuts at this annual gathering, while admiring the movements of a folk dance group. It's a great way to combine the pleasures of the eye and the taste buds! A tasty moment to share with the whole family!

For forty-five years, Sylvanès Abbey has been setting the stage each year with its International Festival of Sacred Music and World Music. This not-to-be-missed event features internationally-renowned artists working on a specific theme, and offers the chance to hear choirs, solo singers and organists perform sacred, liturgical, classical and traditional works. Performances take place in the former ^12th-century Cistercian abbey.

A magical place to which Galienne Tonka and Nicolas Wisser still his every year a supplement of soul. Equestrian art, organic farming and meetings are the ingredients of this extraordinary mixture. Also, every Thursday evening, an organic market settles in poultry with demonstrations of equestrian art. There is also the possibility to have breakfast while admiring the work of horses. On appointment. There will be no representations of riding theatre in 2009, this time to give to the team prepare a festival of large size starting from 2010.

Mimos, an international festival of mime and gesture arts, since 1983, was a forerunner. It is the largest in Europe, with 75,000 spectators and a thousand facets (object theatre, dance, acrobatics, puppets, juggling, street). The city becomes the theatre of this art of movement during a summer break: squares, gardens, alleyways, districts, museums host shows and strolls, most of them free of charge. The exhibition of the paved Faubourg attracts thousands of visitors in the streets of Verdun. It takes place 12:00 to 0:00 every first Saturday of June. BANDAFOLIE'S, a not-to-be-missed cultural event in Bessines-sur-Gartempe, has been celebrating music and sharing with brio for 25 years. Thanks to the commitment of 220 volunteers, a dozen international groups enliven this popular summer festival every year, usually during the week of July 14th. In July 2022, over 40,000 festival-goers vibrated to the rhythm of Bandafolie's, testifying to the growing popularity of this warm and friendly event marked by sharing and a memorable popular atmosphere. For music lovers, Bandafolie's is an event not to be missed.

As its name suggests, the Graines de rue festival showcases the street arts, especially young artists from the Limousin region and beyond. Make some noise, it's growing! Over 4 days, from Thursday to Sunday, young talent and young companies are on the program, aimed at young people and the general public, as well as professionals. Opening up the stage to the general public, between sharing, laughter, entertainment and freedom. The ^26th edition of the festival will be full of new discoveries and fun for all the family!

This is a race whose reputation is no longer to be done in Limousin. Gendarmes and time thieves attract a large and good child every year, made up of talented athletes, but also groups of friends and family. For on two days there are for all cocks! For experts, the trail: the large (58 km), the gendarmes and thieves (32 km) and the discovery (10 km). But also a special 5 km free-turn women and trails for chicks, benjamins and minimal.

Each year, the association Relaxation and Culture in Argonne organises an exhibition on the lavender fields in the "grand" washhouse of Lavoye. It allows the public to discover, thanks to a reconstruction of scene and explanations, the work of these women at the beginning of the 20th century, their actions and their daily life in the wash house. The exhibition also traces the history of these buildings, their method of construction and the need for each town for having a wash house from the 18th century.

Every year, at the beginning of July, the Ville Haute district puts on its Renaissance costume. For one weekend, heritage and street arts are honored during three intense days. The Triumph of the Schools of Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan is the flagship event of Guer and the life of the officers of the school. It is both a traditional event marking the life of the school and a great celebration open to all. In two days, it offers the opportunity to discover military culture through a book fair, demonstrations (helicopters, combat aviation, tanks...), the stands of the various armies, a visit to the school museum... Most activities are free, except for baptisms. For shows, there is a charge for tiered seats, but they are easily visible outside the seats.

A 22nd edition for this festival organized by Words of Storytellers. 7 intensive days for more than 70 rendez-vous in the beautiful lawns of the island of Vassivière (not far from the castle and the farm) turn into a fairy village. Every summer, on the second Sunday in June, Escragnolles celebrates donkeys. In the neighborhood of Colette, donkeys from all regions of France are gathered. Demonstrations of maréchalerie, exhibitions and presentations of donkeys and ponies, promenades walks, as all visitors.

Since 1986, the West Coast Association has been campaigning for the promotion of cinema, particularly the short film in Brittany. So every year, it is an indispensable rendezvous that it organizes: the European Festival of Short Films. The opportunity to propose an exceptional programme, a range of the film practices of our neighbours, from the Czech Republic to Norway, to Hungary and Ireland! This is a summary of the best European films that can be found in the rooms in Brest. But not because, since some particular genres are put to the honor, the crazy and endearing films in Brest Off, a type of cinema that takes risks in the Competition UFO, Breton achievements in Made in Breizh, current problems in Europe short… For the smaller ones, three short films are proposed to awaken their curiosity. Animated films and fiction from 3 years old, "For Pitchounes", for 8 years "Tales and colours", and for 13 years "Mines of nothing." Meetings, educational booklet, exhibitions, workshops: everything is done to enable children to better understand the world of images. More than 60 years of existence! This huge familial event showcases the Bigouden local tradition and, more broadly, Breton, with an open window on more distant traditions. Breton music, traditional dances, great children's parade and fireworks on Saturday, fest-noz on Sunday evening presented by Sonerien Du, bagadoù competitions and parades, celtic circles, animate scenes and streets. And to finish on a high note, musicians and dancers in costumes blend into a gigantic final on Monday so as to pay tribute to the Reine des Brodeuses elected each year. Four days that animate the streets of Pont l'Abbé are celebrated.

Organized every two years in the spring, on odd years, Peyri'Art is an ephemeral exhibition scattered in various galleries of the village. It presents the work of visual artists, painters, sculptors, drawers, photographers, comic book authors or authors of artists' books selected by a jury, as well as artists living in Peyriac. The opportunity for the public to discover rich and varied works, while discovering... or rediscovering the heart of this pretty village and going to meet the particular cellars of Peyriac-de-Mer.
