Stay : Discover the

Cottage tour

On this trip, you will discover all the highlights of southern Norway: rugged mountainous landscapes, deep blue fjords, bright green glacial lakes, vast plateaus and national parks. You will have the chance to stay in authentic Norwegian log cabins and a luxurious apartment on the edge of fjords. Thus, you will be accommodated in four comfortable accommodations, ideally located for the excursions offered by Nordic, and offering good value for money. The accommodations are built in a typical Norwegian style. In Geiranger and Rondane you will also meet the friendly owners of these accommodations. In short, you will discover the Norwegian "Golden Triangle" in a comfortable and affordable way, and what's more, in a typically Norwegian way: by staying in wooden cabins!

Day 1: Day 1-2: Drive to Kiel and boarding

Steps: Oslo

You will drive to Kiel. There, around 12:30 pm, you will board a comfortable Color Line ship. At 2 pm, you will leave for Oslo. On board, you can enjoy the calm of the sea, the stores, the evening show, the aquatic center and the delicious buffets.

Optional: If you want a more relaxed start to your trip, you can book an overnight stay in Germany before boarding the ferry. We recommend the Gut Kaden Hotel in Alveslohe, 75 km from Kiel, just past Hamburg. This elegant hotel has parking, a beautiful garden, a golf course, a terrace and a wellness area.

Day 2: Day 2 - 6: Hallingdal & Hardangervidda

Steps: Oslo

You will arrive in Oslo at 10:00 am, where you will discover the highlights of the city: Vigeland Park, the Viking Ship Museum and the Opera House. From Oslo, you will drive along the green Hallingdal valley and the wooden churches of Torpo and Gol to Geilo, at the foot of the Hardangervidda National Park. Here you will stay for four nights in a comfortable and cosy cabin in Geilolia Hyttetun. There are 3 rooms and a nice sauna (Code H021 in the vacation homes - Hallingdal).

Day 3: Day 6-9: Sognefjord, Jotunheimen and Jostedalsbreen

In the morning, you will take the road 50 towards the Sognefjord area. On the way you can make a short detour to Flåm and Gudvangen (from where you can take a cruise on the impressive Nærøyfjord). Alternatively, you can head north over the beautiful Aurlandsvegen pass (snow road). You can visit the historic village of Lærdal and its interesting salmon museum. You will continue along the shores of the Lustrafjord to Skjolden. Here you will stay for 3 nights in a spacious apartment (64 m²) with a fantastic view of the fjord. It has 2 bedrooms and can accommodate up to 4 people (code S001 in the vacation homes - Sognefjord). From 5 persons you will stay in a beautifully situated vacation home (145 m²) with 2 bathrooms, sauna and jacuzzi and with a beautiful view of the surrounding area and the surrounding mountains. This accommodation has a modern interior and large windows to admire the landscape. (code S004 to vacation homes - Sognefjord)

Day 4: Day 9-13: Geirangerfjord, Nordfjord, Jostedalsbreen and the archipelago

Steps: Geiranger

Passing through the breathtaking Sognefjell Pass, you will cross the Jotunheimen National Park, literally translated as "the home of the giants". This impressive pass rises to 1,440 meters. If you wish, you can "climb" the Galdhøpiggen (Norway's highest peak at 2 469 m). If you follow a guide, you will start from Juvasshytta and without a guide, from the mountain hut Spiterstulen. Don't forget that you have to leave early from Skjolden! In Grotli you will take the Gamle Strynefjellweg ("the old Stryn road") and descend into one of the most beautiful areas of southern Norway: Nordfjord and Geirangerfjord. You will pass the majestic Nordfjord near the town of Stryn, and then continue to the famous Geirangerfjord. You will stay near Hellesylt in a beautiful wooden cabin owned by the friendly Stadheim family, only a few kilometers from Geirangerfjord. This typical Norwegian cabin is equipped with all comforts. (Code G001, G002 and G003 at Nordfjord & Geirangerfjord vacation homes)

Day 5: Day 13-16: Trollstigen, Dovrefjell and Rondane

Steps: Dovre

Today we recommend a trip to the impressive Trollstigen trail (open from the beginning of June, depending on weather conditions). From the impressive viewpoint you can see the 11 famous hairpin bends. You will then descend into the charming Romsdalen with its many waterfalls. You will spend the night in a wooden hut at the Formoseter estate, an ideal starting point for beautiful hikes in the Rondane National Park. Maybe this is the opportunity to leave the car for a day? You will spend three nights in a well located and comfortable cabin with one, two or four bedrooms.

Day 6: day 16-17: Ferry to Kiel

Steps: Oslo

The vacations are almost over! You will drive to Oslo on the E6, passing through the charming Gudbrandsdalen. An extra night in Oslo is of course possible, and even recommended. If you are interested, please let us know as soon as possible! Then, around 12:30 pm, you will board one of the very comfortable Color Line ships and set sail at 2 pm.

Day 7: Day 17: return trip

Steps: Oslo

At 10 am you will arrive in Kiel. It is then time for you to disembark and prepare for the return trip.
