The Whitsundays are an extraordinary place, just a stone's throw from the Great Barrier Reef in north-east Queensland. An archipelago of over 70 islands, it's a truly postcard-perfect place to fly over or explore from a boat.

There are a number of flight options for a breathtaking view of the Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef: an hour-long flight in a small plane, a helicopter flight or a seaplane flight over this paradise.

You can choose the number of days of your excursion. The longer you stay, the more time you'll have to explore the Whitsundays.

Day 11: Magnetic island, the koala island

Steps: Magnetic Island

Magnetic Island, only accessible by ferry, is renowned for its incredible flora and fauna. These are well preserved on this 52-square-kilometer island, most of which is covered by the Magnetic Island National Park. In fact, the densest population of koalas is to be found in this park. To see them, we recommend hiking through the park to immerse yourself in their natural environment.

On this island, you can also meet and hand-feed rock wallabies. These are often found on the rocks of Geoffrey Bay, which we invite you to visit.


Day 12: Mission Beach, between coral reefs and paradise beaches

Steps: Mission Beach

Just 1h50 from the city of Cairns, the small coastal town of Mission Beach is the ideal place to spend a weekend. It's also the starting and finishing point for many East Coast road trips and excursions to the Great Barrier Reef. Magnificent landscapes and idyllic beaches make this the perfect spot for a few days' getaway.

Snorkeling or diving

The Great Barrier Reef is located in the vicinity of Mission Beach. It is therefore highly recommended to observe the magnificent coral reefs and colorful fish by donning a snorkeling mask or even donn inga diver's suit to explore the depths!


Day 13: Cairns and the surrounding area, rainforest and barrier reef.

Steps: Cairns

Cairns is often the first or last stop on an East Coast roadtrip. Surrounded by the Daintree Rainforest, Cairns and its surroundings will immerse you in a breathtaking tropical landscape.

Snorkeling or diving

Also close to the famous Great Barrier Reef, we recommend that you discover the magnificent marine creatures by snorkelingor diving .

Fitzroy Island or Green Island

The beautiful Fitzroy Island is a superb place to dive amid a rich marine life ofturtles and extraordinary fish .The island is home to the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre. Green Island is also renowned for itssumptuous coral re efs.

Day 14: Cape tribulation and Port Douglas

CAPE TRIBULATION & PORT DOUGLAS

Cape Tribulation and Port Douglas are two of Queensland's most northerly points. To reach Cape Tribulation, take a car barge across the ten meters or so separating the two shores. Here, you'll be immersed in the scenery of northeastern Australia, with views of the world's oldest rainforest, the Daintree Forest.

Snorkeling

In this corner of Australia's east coast, you'll have the opportunity to discover the beauty of the Great Barrier Re ef, as well as to snorkelamong superb animals such as turtles, of which there are quite a few .
