Cape Tribulation is located on the seashore, where the jungle descends to the deserted beaches. On June 17, 1770, following a shipwreck, the crew of theEndeavour spent seven weeks on land to repair the ship. In memory of this misadventure, the place took the name of Cape Tribulation. Increasingly visited by tourists, it is an incredibly beautiful and wild stretch of coastline, one of the few places where the rainforest descends to the sea, meeting the coral reefs. After crossing the Daintree River is Cow Bay, an ideal gateway to Cape Tribulation, Cooktown and Daintree National Park
