Day 1: Heading for Mai Chau
Steps: Mai Châu
Departure from Hanoi to Mai Chau (160 km). It is better to have your own vehicle with driver to fully enjoy the scenery and be able to stop where you want. The small villages of Mai Chau, Lac and Van offer their perfect setting for quiet stops during the day. In Van, more touristic than the others, you will easily find accommodation solutions.
Day 2: On the road to Dien Bien Phu
Steps: Son La
Start in the morning for His La, regional capital where you will visit the former prison and an ethnographic museum that will allow you to better understand ethnic, social and religious links between the peoples of Tonkin. In the afternoon, road to Dien Bien Phu with many photo stops on the way.
Day 3: In the shoes of a paratrooper
The visit of the Dien Bien phu site will take you half a day, between the Beatrice Hill and the Éliane Hill or the Battle Museum and, of course, the moving cemetery. The city of Dien Bien Phu itself is not really interesting so, at the end of the day, drive to Sapa.
Day 4: Relaxation in Sapa
To rest from the long journey of the previous day, relax today with a beautiful hike through the rice fields around Sapa. You can also visit one of the small neighbouring villages, where typical markets are held every week. In the afternoon, explore the Lao Cai Valley by motorcycle or 4x4 and finish at Bac Ha.
Day 5: At the Hmnong meeting
The Hmnong Ethnie, recognizable by its colourful outfits, is very present in Lac Ha and in all surrounding villages. Enjoy the charm of these small hamlets and, above all, explore the region's most vibrant Lac Ha market.
Day 6: Back to Hanoi
Steps: Hanoi
The return journey will take you all day, especially as you will be able to make new stops for photos, encounters, contemplation. Arrival in Hanoi at the end of the day for a night stroll around Lake Hoan Kiêm and stroll along the busy street leading to the Opera House.

Day 7: Last day in Vietnam
Session shopping in the morning, preferably in the 36 guilds and the former French concession. Take off in the afternoon and return flight.
