The grandfather, Raymond, still looks after the 8 hectares of vines. The Barlet family now owns 25 hectares of vines in Jongieux producing supple and generous wines, of which 4.5 hectares are planted with marestel grapes. On the acres of the Prieuré cellar, jacquère, altesse, mondeuse, typical Savoyard grape varieties, rub shoulders with chardonnay, pinot and gamay. Jongieux's flagship remains without a doubt the Altesse, a grape variety only found in Savoie! Fortified in limestone scree and stony, sun-drenched soil, the grapes are very fine and have a beautiful golden yellow colour. On the palate, the marestel-coloured Savoy dogfish explodes in rich and fat tones of honey, apricot, toast... The Mondeuse, a grape variety close to Syrah, produces a powerful and fruity local wine. Note the Eole cuvée, a sweet white wine, born from Chardonnay by a passerillage out of stock to concentrate the juices, the aromas and the acidity.
