This summer, the Tour de France passes through Praz de Lys Sommand and Taninges! It is on July 15th that the brave cyclists will face the famous Col de la Ramaz, in an idyllic setting for the spectators and sporting for the competitors. On July 16th, the Tour will pass through the village of Taninges. For this occasion, two animated evenings will take place. For the amateur cyclists, you have the opportunity to ride the Annemasse-Morzine stage on July 9th and to precede the champions.

In winter, the Alps are a true ski Eldorado: there are plenty of stations to delight enthusiasts! Often very expensive, you think the pleasure of sliding is reserved for privileged people? Well do you misunderstand: Cross-country skiing and snowshoes are generally much more affordable. And for evidence: The area of Val de Tamié, located in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Bauges massif, offers 30 kilometres of marked and maintained cross-country ski slopes, accessible from 5 € for adults and 3 € for children! Green, blue, red and black: Come and try this practice on tracks of various levels!

Did you know? Nordic skiing is one of the most complete and harmonious physical activities - in fact, its practice is supported by many doctors. So forget the cold of winter and take advantage of the white carpet you put on Dame Nature to try this original sport! The ski area of Praz-de-Lys-Sommand has a few trails at various levels of difficulty. One of them is especially dedicated to fitness: developed in collaboration with specialists, she has panels giving you tips to better manage your effort and your heart rhythm! On track!

Located in the heart of the Brasses massif, the Plaine-Joux plateau is ideally located for cross-country skiing. At 1 250 metres above sea level, you are facing the mythical Mont Blanc and develop within a calm and wild nature, on quality snow. Green, blue, red or black; a total of five tracks are offered, groomed in classic or alternating from 1,5 to 15 km, from very easy (green) to black (black). This gives you the opportunity to make progress at your own pace, while taking the time to enjoy the surrounding landscape!

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is one of the most famous ski resorts in Haute-Savoie. If the alpine downhill at high altitude is not for you, the station also offers an alternative with a Nordic ski area of about kilometres of slopes. Houches, Chamonix, Argentière, Vallorcine, splendid and attractive sites for beginners or those who are more confirmed. In Chamonix: 3 tracks in three levels of difficulty, 20 km within a few minutes of the city centre. And if you prefer the pleasure of walking, please note that two pedestrian routes are at your disposal for an outing in snowshoes!

Sport is all year round: whether it is raining, selling or snowing! If in summer the mountains of Haute-Savoie lend themselves particularly well to hiking, the winter is the best ski. Welcome to the Upper Giffre valley, where we offer you a cross-country ski exit! Between 690 and 1 770 metres of altitude, the tracks of Horseshoe, Joux-Plane or the valley offer you great possibilities for riding. In total, these are 17 green, blue and red itineraries, marked and traced in classical style or skating. The best way to attract budding skiers as well as the most experienced skiers!

Sylvie Becaert, gold medallist in sprint at the 2003 World Championships, and Roddy Darragon, gold medallist at the 2006 Olympic Games, are certainly the two largest cross-country ski champions that the Grand-Bornand has known. But do not put pressure on you: here, everyone can evolve at its level! From December to April, while Dame Nature takes you on its white carpet, the northern area of the station takes you to its 70 kilometres of cross-country skiing. Walkers, for their part, are not: 3 marked routes are reserved, with a link Le Grand-Bornand-Le Chinaillon in return.

The slopes of the northern borders of the Confins in La Clusaz have grown and advanced the athlete Vincent Vittoz, a sacred Nordic world champion in Oberstdorf in 2005. Today, it is here that we propose you to spend. Forget the seasonal cold and take advantage of this activity to discover the enchanting landscapes of the snow-capped Alps. The area has 14 marked tracks at various levels of difficulty, allowing everyone to take pleasure without sweating blood and water. In such an environment, sport in winter will never have been so attractive!

The RASSEMBLEMENT NATIONAL CHEMINOT, organized by the GNMC (Groupement National Motocycliste Cheminot), is a must-attend event for motorcycle enthusiasts and railway workers. Recognized as a company sport, it attracts around a thousand participants from all over France. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, this eagerly-awaited event is back with a vengeance. It's an opportunity to celebrate the passion of motorcycling, and to rediscover the spirit of camaraderie that animates this unique community. A not-to-be-missed event for two-wheeled enthusiasts and lovers.

What better way to liven up a village than with a festival combining music and street art? The streets of Saint-Gervais are transformed into a veritable stage. Artists turn the public space into a giant festival, with music, street dance, theater, comedians and numerous street performances, each more eccentric than the last. For music lovers, there's something for everyone on the dance floor in the heart of the village: soul, funk, blues, pop, DJ, jazz, rock, electro-swing and street bands...

In 2018, it will be the 13 ^th edition of the 10 km of Cluses. As each year for the occasion, participants and volunteers will animate the streets of the commune in a friendly atmosphere. Ten kilometers to go alone or in relay! In the region or residents, here is a great opportunity to make new sports meetings, and why not find a jogging route to repeat autonomously. Of average difficulty, it is proposed to the greatest number. Take the shoes and start at 9:30 a. m. at the Cluses stadium: you have everything to gain, whatever the final ranking!

Two adult races, four children races, a family test, and a hiking route; Gruffy's cracks are more eclectic than ever! Amateur or confirmed runners, come and meet on the 6 km, unless you prefer to last the pleasure, opting for 10.5 km. Meanwhile, the budding athletes, born between 1999 and 2008, will be robbed of the 700, 2,000 and 2,800 meters dedicated to them.

Difficulty: easy to find.

Date: Gruffy - Galera Crust. First departure (hiking) at 9 a. m. departure of adult races at 9:30 a. m., child races between 10:40 and 11:00, and family race at 11:20.

Other practical information: any unlicensed participant shall have a medical certificate stating the absence of contraindication to the practice of racing on foot.

Winter FestiGrat's in Praz-de-Lys-Sommand is an open-air music event offering free concerts on the ski slopes. Spectators can enjoy the music while admiring the view of Mont Blanc. It's the perfect opportunity to spend some unforgettable family time together. In summer, FestiGrat's also offers free concerts during family outings. During the winter season, the office is open daily from 10am to 12:15pm and 2pm to 5:30pm during school vacations, and weekdays from 10am to 12pm and weekends from 10am to 12:15pm and 2pm to 5:30pm outside school vacations.

the 1600 Mountain Festival has been in Samoëns since 2022. Initially set up on the Samoëns plateau at an altitude of 1,600 metres, the festival has since moved down to the village, on the Lac aux Dames site, in 2024. The concept? Open-air electronic music, with headliners including The Avener for the first edition and Joachim Garraud and Sara Costa for the third. A friendly atmosphere in a magnificent setting at the foot of the snow-capped peaks. A musical event that attracts a diverse audience.

Around the Mechanical Music Museum, a festival that perpetuates the tradition of this popular music that enchants the streets of Les Gets for a weekend. On a theme renewed each year, animations, exhibitions and good mood in continuous.

A spectacular setting for a spectacular race. The Xtrem version of the triathlon is indeed a crazy sport designed for sharp athletes. An outdoor sport that combines swimming (with a night start in the middle of the lake and a 3.8 km crossing), cycling for 180 km with 5 passes to climb and running with a nice marathon to finish in beauty and effort at the top of the Semnoz for the "Top Finishers" and on the esplanade of the lake in Saint-Jorioz for those who will be "out of time"... 250 places available for ultra-motivated athletes! The Trail du Laudon offers a festive atmosphere, breathtaking courses and total immersion in nature. Between the mountains of Entrevernes and Semnoz, discover magnificent views over Lake Annecy. For walkers, trail runners and children, there's something for everyone. The Marche du Laudon, Trail des Charmettes, Trail de la Bauche and Trail de la Cochette await you on April 30. New: the Trail des Minis, an event for younger runners, on Saturday April 29 at 5pm.

It is within the superb park classified as a Sensitive Natural Area - it extends its preserved areas of 24 hectares, shaded by chestnut trees more than a hundred years old, to the lakeside - from the Rovorée estate that La Châtaignière was built. A mansion, designed in 1926 by the Geneva architect Maurice Turrettini, which since 2007 has hosted temporary exhibitions under the aegis of the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council. It's not a newcomer, having been launched in 2010, but it's certainly the latest festival to make its mark in a city that also looks to the mountains. The mountain pastures are celebrating at the beginning of August in Praz-de-Lys-Sommand! During a beautiful and playful day, in the middle of nature, come and discover the crafts, the local products and the life of the mountain pastures. On the program, all day long, demonstrations with herd dogs and sheep, a big gathering of Alpine horns (Franco-Swiss), and a giant barbecue to feed the whole family! It's also an opportunity to stretch your legs and discover or rediscover the surrounding GR trails and enjoy the exceptional panorama of the region.

Perched in the pretty hamlet of Bionnassay - accessible by car - in the heart of a natural agora with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, the "Théâtre dans les alpages" festival is an open-air theater. 4 evenings, 4 open-air performances, watching the day slowly decline as you watch experienced actors perform. The project, set up by an association created for the occasion, reconnects us with the magic of open-air theater, that of the origins.

Savoie Retro Games Vol 4 is an exhibition dedicated to retro games held in Menthonnex-sous-Clermont. Organized by the Savoie Retro Games association, the aim of this event is to preserve our digital heritage. The show features a wide range of activities, including simulators, cosplay, conferences and film vehicles. You can also meet special guests such as comedians, youtubers and game designers. There will also be a tombola, with the chance to win a signed PS5 console.
