Today six Gîtes de France, from 3 to 6 people, housed in a wing of the castle, in the middle of a large tree park, offer a haven of peace in the heart of the tourist Ardèche.

On the right bank of the Rhône, in the terraced territory of the prestigious AOP saint-joseph, this cooperative winery has been one of the great winegrowers since 1960. Its wines are made from Syrah grapes for reds, and Marsanne and Roussanne for whites. They also produce AOP Condrieu and Côtes-du-Rhône, and Vins de Pays d'Ardèche. The Mas d'Intras estate has been passed down through 4 generations and is now run by Denis Robert and Sébastien Pradal. A modest-sized operation that has opted for organic farming, the domaine produces some excellent red wines from the Ardèche region, including the famous Cuvée d'Alphonse, a fruity, full-bodied blend of Syrah and Merlot, and the Cuvée des Helviens, made with Grenache from old vines. The Union des vignerons des coteaux de l'Ardèche, known under the brand name Vignerons Ardéchois, groups together 1,500 winegrowers at 14 wineries, covering a total of 7,500 ha. A wide range of grape varieties flourish on this varied terroir, giving Vignerons Ardéchois wines their richness and distinctive character. It was in Roman times that the vineyard of Saint-Péray appeared. The first cuvée of the effervescent Saint-Peray was developed in 1826 in the cellars of Beauregard Castle. Since then, its popularity has grown steadily. Lamartine, Daudet, Proust will give it in their narratives, Wagner was also a great follower. AOC Saint-Peray dates from December 8, 1936. As for the respectable and joyous Brotherhood of Saint-Peray Wine, founded in 1990, its mission is to promote the wines of Saint-Péray. Founded in 1928, the Cave de Lablachère brings together about a hundred winegrowers. The 420 ha of vines are situated at an altitude of between 200 and 500 m with a hot and dry climate. The production of 23,000 hectolitres of Ardèche wine is made from recognised quality grape varieties. In white: marsanne, grenache blanc, sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and viognier. In rosé: syrah, cabernet, grenache (gris) and gamay. In red: gamay, merlot, cabernet, syrah, grenache and chatus. The wines of the cellar are regularly rewarded at agricultural competitions.

For 2,000 years, in this valley with its clay-limestone soil and Mediterranean climate, generations of winegrowers have ensured the continuity of the vineyard. Alba's winegrowers formed a cooperative in 1941. Today, some thirty winegrowers from the commune and surrounding areas are involved. A rich territory alternating between the basaltic terraces of the Coiron and the limestone slopes of Mont Juliau, with 60% red grape varieties. A modern winery, a barrel cellar and a renovated boutique are all quality tools that enable Alba's winegrowers to process their grapes and market their wines.

The place deserves a detour: you can really spend one hour there, especially on the holiday route to keep kids busy and entertain the parents. The shop of the distillery outside the Musée de l'Alambic offers all the homemade range starting with the "classic " ones, the fruits spirits made with traditional know-how including a famous Williams pear, a great speciality of the firm without omitting the mirabelle, the raspberry or the old plum. Liqueurs, creams, aperitifs, griottines are also available as well as a new product to be discovered: the "Fifty-Fifty", a harmonious blend of spirit and liqueur to be used as digestive or cocktail. The distillery receives more than 150 000 visitors per year! And if you drop by around Christmas, you may have the chance to see Santa Claus appear paragliding (or on quad depending on the weather). This firm has truly become an institution in the Rhône Valley. If you come from Annonay, you just have to go down the valley towards the village of Champagne: it is a predestined name for hosting such a distillery and its museum.

Gérard Champetier took over the family farm in 1972 representing the fourth generation of the family in viticulture. Today, he is assisted by his son Richard, fifth generation. These winemakers welcome you on their land and in their cellar where you can discover the wines of a passionate and open family. The area covers about thirty hectares on the Beaulieu nipples. Vinification includes the husbandry. The cellar offers a fortnight's tricolorous vintage, which distinguishes itself by their individuality. The field stopped garlic production.

In the heart of the village, Daniel Archambault presents his wines. The whites make up 5% of his production, including an aromatic "viognier marsanne" of great value. Syrah lovers will appreciate a 100% rosé! For the reds, the Cuvée Prestige, aged in oak barrels, and the Cuvée Vieilles Vignes caught our attention. The wines are also available to order online. This cellar offers wines from the Ardèche winegrowers of the protected appellations of origin Côtes-du-rhône and Côtes-du-vivarais as well as organic wines. The Vignerons des Gorges are particularly dynamic and committed to wine tourism. They are grouped together in producers' stores, some of them also offer their olive oils, mark out winegrowers' paths and program walks in the vineyards as part of a dynamic wine tourism.

On two streets of the town hall, this wine cellar is well signposted from the RN 86 - two possibilities: or park along the national or enter the city via the central roundabout and you can easily find the place - to load the trunk of some vouchers… in front of the cellar. Sylvie's passion, wine merchants, vineyards and délices are visible: Côtes du Rhône with some of its greatest wines, great wines of Bordeaux, Burgundy du Val-de-Loire, Languedoc and South-West are carefully placed in the shelves of the cellar which houses the summer touffeur behind thick walls. But it's not all because local products are ardéchois - jams, blocks and even this rare water produced in Asperjoc: The Queen of the Basalts - are beautifully displayed on shelves. On the bulk, wines from Countries of Ardèche and Costières de Nîmes and some table wines. An excellent Muscat of Lunel of owner, discreet homage to the roots of the vineyard complete the pretty panel of this nice cellar which has the concern - alas too rare today to propose excellent wines without ruining the client.

Just a stone's throw from the tourist office, the Rosières winery groups together 150 winegrowers, i.e. 700 hectares of vines, spread over 13 communes. The variety of soils and exposures are an asset that the cellar makes the most of. It produces local wines made from Gamay and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds and rosés, and from Sauvignon Blanc for the whites. Two exceptions: Viognier on sandstone soils which gives a rare and magnificent wine and Chatus, a grape variety which survived the phylloxera epidemic and whose most beautiful plants are found in the commune of Vernon.

This cooperative brings together 14 wine cellars in the southern Ardèche and groups together the production of the 1,500 cooperative winegrowers.
