Sailing Charente-Maritime

Saint-Savinien is one of the most pleasant towns, offering a soft light for everyone who wants to stroll along the Charente. But the town also has a miniature port which is linked to the passion of one man: Jean-Louis Foucaud. This ship carpenter had the idea of creating model fishing and merchant ships for children. This was done as early as 1987 with the first four ships that delighted children. Today, 18 replicas are available, to the delight of children, who can take the helm for a moment. The most? The decors are particularly realistic and offer a resolutely pleasant atmosphere: plaice, bridge, bastion, dyke. Smart, parents are welcome and will be able to take advantage of the snack and lunch formulas offered by the snack bar on the shaded terrace, on the edge of the lake. On the site you will find the "île aux manèges" which offers other playful pleasures: carousel, swings and 1920's period merry-go-round, pedal go-kart circuit...

There's no shortage of water sports activities in Châtelaillon! Many prefer to lounge on the sand or take a dip in the sea, while others prefer sailing. Head for the Ecole de Voile sailing club, which welcomes children aged 5 and over to discover the joys of sailing. Learning takes place on a sheltered stretch of water, in complete safety, to give your little ones a taste for the sea. Optimists, catamarans, dinghies... you can go out for the day!

The Société des Régates Rochelaises is one of the best and oldest light sailing clubs in France. In 2021, the club merged with the Ecole de Voile Rochelaise to become "La Rochelle Nautique". The place is still very popular with those who want to learn sailing, it was elected Club of the Year in 2013 and has trained many champions, some becoming references in their category. The Society organizes international light sailing competitions thanks to an adapted plan, ideal infrastructures and a recognized experience.

Founded in 1966, this sailing club offers sailing for all at its two bases: La Flotte and Rivedoux. Easily accessible, the Rivedoux base is located on the village's southern beach and enables children aged 5 and over to discover the joys of sailing. Beyond the purely sporting aspect, the young sailors also discover the marine environment in complete safety. The youngest sail on the famous Optimists, beginners on Laser Funboats and older children on New Cat Catamarans. Courses last from 3 to 5 days. The association has been awarded the "Ecole Française de Voile" label, guaranteeing teaching leading to autonomy, practical and adapted facilities, and the possibility of sailing in complete safety. Private lessons are available for confident beginners or advanced sailors: catamarans, dinghies, as well as windsurfers for hire.

Take the whole year from the dock 10 of the minimum. An experienced skipper takes you to the sun at its zenith or in the evening to admire his sunset on the ocean. A 2-hour walk.

This association offers everyone the chance to discover the joys of sailing at one of its 3 nautical bases: La Flotte, close to the village, Rivedoux, on the south beach, and Saint-Martin, on the Plage de la Cible. Hundreds of sailors (aged 5 and over) take advantage of this unique venue for free sailing. Surfboards, paddleboards and catamarans are available for hire, so all you have to do is get on board! Certified as a "French Sailing School", the club offers a wide range of modern equipment.

La Cabane Verte is a sailing school located in Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré, on the Ile de Ré. It offers a variety of nautical activities, including kayak rental, beginner and advanced surfing, wing foil, windsurfing and paddleboarding. Courses and private lessons are also available for catamaran and windsurfing, for beginners and advanced alike. The school provides the necessary equipment, such as wetsuits and life jackets, but it is advisable to bring a windbreaker for the catamaran.

Laurent Camus is a boat school instructor in La Rochelle. A sailing enthusiast from an early age, he teaches sailing in a simple and accessible way. His aim is to pass on his technical knowledge in a relaxed atmosphere of discovery. He adapts his sailing sessions to the level of his trainees, and never pushes when conditions at sea become difficult. To guarantee a quality service, he limits the number of trainees on board. His teaching experience enables him to establish a calm dialogue with his students and organize life on board so that they feel comfortable and confident.

CNPA Bassin de Marennes is a sailing club located in Bourcefranc-le-Chapus. The sailing school offers a variety of courses for all levels and ages, including windsurfing courses, optimist courses, catamaran courses for children and adults, and private lessons. In addition to courses, the club also offers sailing equipment rentals, such as catamarans, dinghies, paddles and kayaks. The CNPA also has parking and mooring facilities for boats.
