1 review

In addition to the bus service, Yélo is also a car-sharing service combining two systems: electric cars (black roof) to be picked up spontaneously and dropped off wherever you wish within the authorized perimeter, and hybrid cars (yellow roof) to be reserved and returned to their point of departure. A total of 48 vehicles of different sizes are available for short journeys in the conurbation, or trips lasting several days. Membership and subscription are totally free: you only pay for what you use! A practical, economical and comfortable way to get around the city, the region and beyond, as you please. Once you've signed up, using the service is very simple: all you have to do is geolocate and, if necessary, reserve the car using the Yélomobile application. The vehicle is opened with a badge or the app. Once you're inside, you collect the key using a confidential code, and all you have to do is drive off! If you already subscribe to the CITIZ car-sharing service elsewhere in France, you can access Yélomobile simply by asking your usual operator. Reciprocally, as a Yélomobile user you have access to the 170 cities in the Citiz network!

The people of Rochelais are lucky, they can go to the city by pedaling quietly on one of the bicycle paths, but they also have the possibility to offer themselves a mini cruise! Two solar-powered boats, Volta and Ampère, welcome them. Not only are they silent, but they do not pollute because they are powered by solar energy. They are also very smart and it is possible to get on board with your bike. This is enough to make the people of Rochelais want to get on board to reach the other side of the river in only 5 minutes.

THE SMUGGLER SHIP

Public transport

On holiday, you don't have to use the car every day! The Petit Futé offers you an original way: the ferry boat. Embark on the Vauban to get from Bourcefranc-le-Chapus to Oléron Castle and discover the historic capital of the island and its citadel. Be careful, however, at the time of return, some have already been stuck on the island! To go to Marennes, borrow the Balusot for a 10-minute crossing. It is a good opportunity for cycling, along the channel and ostresiastic huts and visiting the oyster city. Boats do not sail every day and the agenda depends on tides. It is best to call or get the schedules at the Tourist Office.
