BERNOVILLE CASTLE

This sober castle hides its game. With its 2 800 m 2, it is one of the largest in the region. After its construction in the th century, by the Chastenet family of Puységur, the monument went hand in hand: the Camp-Laurent family and then the Hennet family. Like many other castles, that of Bernoville suffered during the two world wars, first occupied in 14 by the Germans and then destroyed, it will be restored before being left behind after 1944. In 2005, work will be saved and given its current appearance. Also visit the 20 ha of the park that borders the castle.

This castle was erected in the middle of the th century for Seillière company, which had just bought out the domain of Guise. He became the property of the Duke of Aumale in 1872 and remained in the family until 1980. It was here that the Earl of Paris, Henri d'Orléans, on July 5, 1908, grandfather of Jean-Carl-Pierre-Marie d'Orléans, considered by some as the dolphin of France. In 1986, the town of Nouvion acquired the castle and developed in the park a sports and leisure complex.
