Castle of the XIIth century with park, polygonal enclosure surrounded by moats, keep sheltering the first elevator built in the Aisne.

Formerly owned by the bishops of Soissons, the building is surrounded by a polygonal enclosure and moat. First built in the 12th century, the present structure dates back to the 18th century. Engraved in the wall of its remarkable 14th-century keep are illustrious and anonymous names such as "Victor Hugo et Juliette 29 juillet 1835", alongside the surnames or initials of young soldiers. Formerly enclosed by gardens, vines and garennes, its vast park features a conservatory orchard of apple trees, a vineyard and an herb garden.

Le donjon de Septmonts mérite un détour. Il est possible d'y monter par un escalier en colimaçon pourprofiter d'une vue panoramique sur les alentours. Le donjon est entouré d'un parc agréable pour compléter la balade.
