A few kilometres after El Argoub, on your right, notice the large dunes made of white sand strangely resembling sugar breads. Soon on your left, an ocean of smaller dunes extends to Mauritania. The only place to redo the levels of the vehicle and its occupants, about 80 km before the border is at the Hotel Restaurant Station Service Barbas (✆ 05 28 89 79 61). You can spend the night there. 12 rooms 100 DH in single, 150 DH in double. Tagine or skewers from 30 DH. Good address.

About 45 km after KP 40, last resort, apart from La Gouira which is not on the transsaharienne road, before the border with Mauritania.
