THE MOUTH WADI DRÂA
Read moreIt is 30 km northwest of Tan-Tan that the Draa flows into the Atlantic Ocean when it is not dry. The bed of this wadi winds its way between cliffs and sandbanks. The ocean can rise about 10 kilometres inland during high tides. Remarkably beautiful, the mouth provides shelter and food for flamingos, cormorants and other migratory birds. Its fragile ecosystem attracts jackals, hyenas and wild cats, but also hares, partridges and bustards.

MA EL AININ ZAWIYA
Read moreThis building, built at the end of the th century by the Sheikh, was designed to ensure its prestige with the Saharan tribes. As it was carried out by artisans of Fez and Marrakech, the necessary construction materials (wood, lime, tiles, etc.), which were absent on site, were transported by sea to Tarfaya and then à back to Smara. Today, partially restored, little work would be needed to save this part of the region's heritage entirely, but they are urgent.

SAINT-EXUPÉRY MUSEUM
Read moreHoused in the Maison d'initiative, this small museum, inaugurated in 2004, is dedicated to the memory of the author of The Little Prince. Saint-Exupéry spent two years of his life at Cap Juby (now Tarfaya) as a station manager for the airmail company. During his stay, he found inspiration for much of his literary work. Through explanatory panels and photos, the museum retraces the life of the pilot and industrial founder of the Toulouse airmail company, Mr Latécoère. An exciting visit to the heart of Aéropostale's history.
