Markets Central And Beiras

Every morning of the week, except Monday, come to the market of Nazaré, full of colors, cakes, fruits, vegetables, ham and of course fish. Before or after shopping, it is very pleasant to have a coffee while observing the local customs. Here you will mainly see women vendors, some of whom are still dressed in their traditional clothes and seven petticoats to protect themselves from the cold. It is typical and local. You should not miss this authentic market when you are in Nazaré

Two beautiful renovated markets to stroll around:

The mercado do peixe(fish market), with a restaurant upstairs is located on the Largo da Praça do Peixe. It is here that the night fishing is sold. A must-see, as well as the typical neighborhood surrounding it.

The Mercado Municipalis located near the Canal do Cojo, not far from the shopping arcades of the modern shopping center, the Forum de Aveiro. The latter remain open late at night, including Sundays.

Think about going there when you are in Aveiro, you will get a small taste of the local Portuguese life.

Large covered market recently renovated on several levels with bars, restaurants and vendors of fish, seafood, fruits and vegetables. Some producers are organic. There is also excellent bread and pastries. It's good, cheap, there is a lot of choice. You can eat in one of the restaurants or shop, or both! Local and family atmosphere. Come early in the morning and take advantage of it to have your breakfast.
