Located at the bottom of the city, Dom Joaquim restaurant has already received several awards for its delicate and very well executed traditional Alentejano cuisine, including one from Michelin in 2017. The tables, well laid out and mainly occupied by regulars, are framed by light marble walls and the young service team is taking care of itself. On the menu, regional gastronomic dishes such as Arroz de Lebre, Borrego assado or Bacalhau. The tourist menu can be a pretty good choice. Good selection of wines.

A simple and fresh dining room with a two-tone checkerboard floor, some discreet lighting: we are not here to impress the gallery but to eat, and well! On the menu: crayfish bread with fresh herbs; cod with sautéed sprouts; partridge puff pastry and dried fruit salad; duck breast, mushrooms, sautéed vegetables and fried garlic; cod on a bed of mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach and boiled eggs. Pretty, gourmet names for carefully presented dishes, full of love and personality: what is beautiful is often good!

In this restaurant, the rustic cuisine so characteristic of the Alentejo region takes pride of place: always prepared with market produce, including game and wild mushrooms in season, for example, and simmered according to the rules of the art. An ode to simplicity and quality ingredients. It's a pleasure to spend time in the room, with its vaulted ceiling and château-like atmosphere. Regulars helping with service or just waiting, no tourists in sight... always a good sign. This mini tasca, with its walls covered in photos of bulls, is in full operation. Specializing in bitoques (pork and veal topped with an egg and served with French fries), the place is always busy. And with good reason: it's the country's most popular dish, perfect at any time of day when time is short. Florindo, with his oversized goodwill, runs around without neglecting anyone. A small restaurant in the heart of the village where regulars come to dine with their families, have a drink or simply say hello... Here you can eat simply and in good spirits, a few good plates of "Alentejo flavors": fried cod in garlic olive oil, spicy prawns, spinach with shrimps... Meat lovers will opt for a pork tenderloin with peppers or a pork steak with prunes. The bill is light, and the dishes are not always light, but you'll enjoy yourself, be warmly welcomed and leave satisfied.

A small establishment with a relaxed atmosphere at the entrance to Tróia marina, mostly frequented by foreign visitors. The menu is therefore more international than regional: mixed and varied salads, hamburgers, fried calamari, cheese platters but also muscatel cream tarts... It's well served, tastefully presented and the fries are crisp to perfection. The kind of place with no surprises where you come back to eat what you liked the first time.
