MARCHÉ
Read moreThe Loulé market deserves a detour, if only for its building with its atypical curves and colours. In addition to its oriental style, it has kept its original look in the alleys and colourful fruit and vegetable stalls. In addition to the fresh produce of daily life, there is a profusion of regional specialities such as fig cakes and home-made jams. Like many Portuguese covered markets, shops, butchers and estaminets surround the central part. All that remains is to let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere.
MERCADO
Read moreThe covered market of Olhão consists of two red buildings of industrial architecture. One is dedicated to fish, which is sold daily by the fishermen, and the other to vegetables. It is not uncommon to see them grilling some octopus on the spot, to the delight of onlookers who find themselves immersed in the heart of the Portuguese popular expression. Don't hesitate to mingle with the shoppers who have come to stock up and take the time, like them, to savor a moment in one of the small cafés that line the square.
MERCADO MUNICIPAL
Read moreA beautiful white building with a clock tower on a small square: the municipal market comes alive every morning until 2 pm. Small traditional stores sell fruits, vegetables, cereals, meat, fresh bread and even flowers. The rest of the time, the municipal market is a kind of commercial center with a few stores to make purchases including a supermarket. It is also the meeting place of Faro's inhabitants, of all generations, who sit on the brick benches or pass by quickly.

This passion was passed on to him by his father, and he perfected his knowledge in the Douro region. He began his project at Monte da Casteleja in 1998, a traditional 7-hectare farm inherited from his grandfather. 3 hectares are planted with vines, using only local Portuguese grape varieties. Production is certified organic. Accommodation is available in one of the four bedrooms and the themed apartment.
PÃO DO ROGIL
Read moreUnmistakable during your visit to the Vicentine Coast. This padaria is famous in the region, and is one of the unmissable stops for Portuguese people going on holiday in the Algarve. Famous for the quality of its alentejano bread baked in a wood-fired oven and its homemade cakes (with almonds, nuts, raisins, alfaroba, or with honey), each more appetizing than the next. You'll probably come back to that. Go before you go to the beach, on your return or if you are just passing through Aljezur.
