With its own fish tanks, close to the arrival point of Sintra's little train, Bùzio (named after the shellfish) is well known in the region for its excellent seafood. It boasts a large, long dining room and a varied menu focused on seafood. Dishes to share... or not! Highlights include camarão à Búzio com arroz d'alho, açorda or arroz de marisco, amêijoas (clams), arroz de polvo (rice with octopus), cataplana de marisco or de cherne...

In the heart of the city, this double tavern presents, in a modest setting, a fairly large map of good Portuguese specialities (in the oven or grilled). The fish is really excellent and the female friendly staff. Recommended.

A truly popular brasserie, built in 1836 on the ruins of a former ^13th-century convent: two beautiful, long, vaulted rooms covered with magnificent, brightly-colored, Masonic-inspired antique azulejo panels and more recent works by Portuguese artist Maria Keil, a garden and the remains of a cloister. This cervejaria (now very touristy!) serves fairly classic Portuguese cuisine: meats (bife à Trindade), fresh fish and seafood (clams, boletes, crabs, lobsters, shrimps and prawns...).

On the heights in a pleasant setting, for those who are allergic to seafood, it offers South African cuisine with a great variety of grilled grillés. Prepared lamb or chicken complete the main dishes, because the starters and desserts are less interesting. Valid wine list and friendly welcome. 

In front of the pier for Tróia, in the typical and picturesque Fontainhas neighborhood, a good house with a nice room and terrace. The fish and meat are perfectly grilled. Let yourself be tempted by some good seafood as a starter, such as ostras do Sado (oysters) and then salmonetes in Setubalense or peixe galo (rooster fish)... Service attentive and smiling. In summer, the famous soccer coach José Mourinho, a native of Setúbal, is sometimes seen there with his family, so keep your eyes open!

On the avenue named after one of the country's greatest opera singers, the catering offer is quite wide. Novo 10 stands out simply because it is the favourite restaurant of José Mourinho, the famous football coach from Setúbal. A large area with a terrace featuring good fish and shellfish dishes and fresh seafood platters. There are also meat dishes to satisfy everyone.

Portvgália is a chain of breweries, some of which are even historical! They specialize in seafood and bifes. Among the best known: the oldest (1925) Almirante Reis Avenue and the Belém Avenue. On the plate, many typical Portuguese specialities (açorda de gambas, cod dishes...). In the 1930s and 1950s, these breweries were frequented by artists, politicians and sportsmen. They remain emblematic places of the city, even if they have lost some of their former glory....
