The Iron Horse Grill is the restaurant of the only Harley-Davidson dealership on the island, Richardson's Harley-Davidson. A very well-stocked dealership with a small museum on its upper floor. As for the restaurant, the obvious place to go for Harley riders on the island and for those who are just passing through, the food is very good! Obviously, the great cuisine is not there but the dishes (burgers, salads, meats...) are all very good. Billiards, darts and regular Live Music animations. A place for bikers but open to all.

This charming bayside restaurant is sure to be a memorable experience. Housed in an old sawmill, it is named after Charles Wallace Risby, the youngest son of the Risby lumber dynasty, who settled in the bay in 1889. For lunch: smoked shrimp with quinoa salad, lemon butter chicken with saffron rice, duck stew with parmesan pasta’all delicious. For dinner, the a la carte menu is replaced by a two-course menu of equally tasty choices.

This winery has a very popular restaurant that is particularly lively on weekend evenings. Order a wine tasting and a "tasting" lunch in 3: the portions are copious and everything is beautifully presented. Dishes are prepared with local ingredients: local cuisine is featured and you can try oysters from Bruny Island, yogurt from Mountain River, trout and salmon from Huon...

Levee Food Co is located on the banks of the North Esk River, near its confluence with the Tamar River. Seafood and pizzas rub shoulders with other dishes with a Mediterranean accent but also fish & chips, inevitable in Australia. The room is pleasant but its comfort cannot bring as much pleasure as that provided by a meal on the terrace. This one is ideally located in front of the river and the pedestrian footbridge which links the two banks. A good address, especially for those staying at the nearby Peppers Seaport Hotel.

Located in the Stewarts Bay Lodge hotel, this restaurant is housed in a modern glass and wood pavilion with large windows and water views. The menu offers a wide range of tempting options. You can sample delicious local produce, including oysters. The service is very friendly and the family atmosphere is very pleasant. All plates are beautiful and colorful. Wash it all down with a cold beer or a good glass of wine.

The ideal address if you plan to have a feast. This Mexican restaurant with a cosmopolitan atmosphere offers a wide choice of specialties: guacamole, tacos, machos, quesadillas, grilled meats... You'll have a lot of fun... and a lot of fun: in the evening, the bar turns into a tequila bar, the cocktails flow and the atmosphere warms up: the festive spirits will have the right to some surprises, keep an eye on the library, we won't say more! Great atmosphere if you want to extend the evening.

Arguably the best table in Devonport, set in a beautiful waterfront setting. There is something for all tastes and diets with gluten-free and vegetarian options... Starters include oysters, or beef carpaccio. Continue with the salmon filet or the shoulder of lamb before melting on the inimitable cheesecake, the cheese board or an ice cream. A nice wine list to accompany the whole.

This small restaurant established on one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Hobart's suburbs, Mount Nelson, is in fact the former home of the chief signalman of the nearby Mount Nelson Signal Station. It dates back to 1897. The beautifully prepared dishes are served in the dining room or on the terrace, with a 180-degree view of the bay. When visiting the site outside of lunchtime, it's a good place to stop for coffee, ice cream or pastries.

Located at the mouth of the Mersey River, on the other side of the harbor, The Elimatta Hotel offers not only pleasant rooms, but also a bar-restaurant with a traditional menu to suit all palates. It's the ideal place to arrive in or depart from Tasmania, and of course for a last meal ashore before boarding your ship for Geelong. On the bistro menu: burgers, pastas, salads, fish & chips... The pier is 4.5 km away. It's a nice place to have a drink, too.

This Italian restaurant on the corner of Salamanca Place is one of Hobart's best. Spaghetti, risotto, penne, gnocchi are on the menu... but no pizza. A way to distinguish itself from other more traditional restaurants. Meat and fish are however part of the menu. Tiramisu, peach pie, panna cotta and Italian cheeses are announced among the sweets at the end of the meal. Not to mention the espresso! All of this can be enjoyed in an air-conditioned room or on the terrace.

This is one of the lively, affordable restaurants in the inner courtyard of Salamanca Place. We particularly appreciate the atmosphere at weekends, when musicians take their places in the back of the room and the evening gradually comes to life. The menu remains classic (pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, salads...), with some nice platters to share with friends and a few original dishes (chicken Parmigiana, lamb chops, salmon, Angus...). A place we can only recommend without hesitation.

This charming pub, also a bed & breakfast, is located, as its name suggests, on the site of an old paddock (a horse paddock) dating back to the 1880s. The atmosphere is friendly, and it's a real pleasure to stop in for a drink or a meal. Burgers, curried chicken, salt & pepper squid, fish soup... the menu is simple but varied. The main attraction is the beer-drinking pig raised by the owners. For overnight guests, 6 pub-style rooms are available.

This is the bistro of the sublime Freycinet Lodge. On sunny days, you can eat on the terrace while admiring the superb view of Coles Bay. We come here for seafood, oysters, salmon rillettes, octopus, noodle and tofu salad, a wide choice of burgers including vegetarian options, chocolate and rhubarb pie, ice cream, crème caramel, a plate of Tasmanian cheeses or just come in for tea. Very friendly welcome.

Close to Lake St Clair and The Wall, it is the main establishment in the area. The interior design has retained all the charm of the past, with its imposing fireplace that maintains a tropical temperature in all seasons. The restaurant serves excellent "Counter Meal" lunches between 12:00 and 2:00 pm only and in the evening. Vegetarian options are available. Nice wine list. The rooms offered are simple but very comfortable.

The former Scottish-style The Highlander Restaurant & Scone Shop has been transformed into Mountain Mumma, a cozy bar and restaurant. On the menu: healthy dishes such as raw vegetable salad and sweet potato fries, simple sandwiches and comfort food like pizzas. Accompanied by delicious chocolate cakes, cupcakes and coffee or hot chocolate. Very friendly staff.

The oldest brewery in Launceston, opened in 1956. The ideal place to eat or drink in the center. Here, you will find local products divinely cooked in the Italian style. On the menu, oysters, arancini, bresaola as a starter. We continue the meal with the fish of the day, gnocchi with arrabbiata accompanied by straciatella, or a piece of meat. And to finish, you can enjoy the classics of Italian gastronomy such as tiramisu. Reservations recommended.

The first pub opened in 1856 and left in its original state, the Bush Inn Brewhouse has been part of the town's heritage for over 150 years. It has now been in the same family for over 35 years.
