Many international performers have performed here - from the famous French mime and actor Marcel Marceau to the multiple Oscar-winning American actor Laurence Olivier. The latter even came in person to protest the demolition of the theater in 1940. It still hosts plays, musicals and ballets today.

It all begins in January 1834, when the Frederick, the last ship built at the Sarah Island prison in Macquarie Harbour, is about to sail for the new prison in Port Arthur. The actors are very funny and involve the audience. Good English preferred to understand the humor of the play.
