There are few places to stop on the road between Cradle Mountain and Queenstown. Tullah Cottage Cafe offers a pleasant break in this small town, formerly a mining town, bordered by Lake Roserbery. You can sit on one of the tables slightly overhanging the road to have a snack or a pastry, have a drink and breathe a little before taking the road again. No fuss and minimal service, but the place is quite decent. A guanaco (related to the llama) keeps you company from its nearby enclosure.

When you visit the Melshell Oyster Shack, you'll have the pleasure of tasting some very good oysters, either gold or silver. The setting is charming, with small tables scattered outside and decorated in various shades of blue. You can accompany your oysters with a glass of wine or a beer. It's very much like paradise!

The oldest brewery in Launceston, opened in 1956. The ideal place to eat or drink in the center. Here, you will find local products divinely cooked in the Italian style. We particularly appreciate the speed of service (as long as no group has positioned itself before you when ordering) and the terrace access, which affords a lovely view of the surrounding countryside and the entrance to the national park.

Built in 1835, this hotel has retained its old-world charm: the building is still in its original state, but the interior has been carefully renovated to offer modern comforts to its visitors. Excellent value for money. You can stop there to have scones with a coffee. But it is especially for its delicious pancakes, to be tasted in front of the mill, that we make a stop in this establishment. On the menu, pancakes with sugar, maple syrup, a mixture of red fruits, in an apple crumble version... Or on the savory side, shrimp, chicken and bacon pancakes with mushrooms, a vegetarian with feta, spinach and squash... And many other choices. Delicious!

A very good restaurant to try on the way back from Cataract Gorge Reserve. The restaurant's signature dish is the seafood platter for one or two people, but the quantities are gargantuan, so it will suit several people. Red meat lovers will also be delighted by the dishes on offer, always in impressive quantities. And to round off the meal on a high note, if you're still a little hungry, the desserts here are particularly well prepared and can be shared among the table.
