The CCAS de Nîmes, as any communal centre for social action, aims to support people living with the social, disabled, and family. On the basis of an administrative dossier, financial allocations for solidarity or ad hoc aid may be obtained:

- household aid, investment aid, housing aid

- residential accommodation allowances

- specific old-age allowances, personalised self-help assistance (APA), packed meals,

- State medical aid, aid to families or persons living with a disability

- social assistance for people living with minimum social conditions (participation in canteen costs, free for sports practice, transport, good food, holidays…).

Applications for social assistance are in advance being investigated by a social assistant or RSA focal point.

A bridge between schools and associative tissue, the Sports Directorate allows young people between the ages of 7 and 14 to access leisure, workshops and sports courses organized by the city's animation-coordination service. These are proposed physical activities of full nature, in the river, in caves, in the sea or in the mountains. On a fee that takes account of the public's income, these activities complement the services of other sports clubs (CLSH and Youth Service). The supervision is provided by territorial educators, all state-patented and/or licensed in science and technology (STAPS). For all registration information, open office to the public at Stade Costières. Ask for the free and useful directory of sports associations with the list of updated coordinates every year.

The Nîmes Arena is a must-see cultural monument during your stay in the city. Built around 100 AD, they are considered the best-preserved amphitheatre of the Roman Empire. Unlike the Colosseum in Rome, the Nîmes Arena has been preserved and converted into a residential area, allowing visitors to explore its arena, stands, interior galleries and arcades. With a capacity of 24,000 spectators, the amphitheatre offers a unique experience to relive the atmosphere of the Roman games. Visitors can also explore the subterranean galleries that were used to conjure up scenery and fighters on the track. In addition to the amphitheatre, visitors can also discover the Nîmes gladiator school and learn more about the history of the bull, which has always occupied an important place in the Arènes. Guided tours, riddle games and dramatized visits are offered for an immersive and entertaining experience.

Since the civil status has been microfilmed, the search for acts is done from the microfilm. Population censuses are available on CD-rom. Any player must be registered on the basis of an official identity piece with a photograph. After this formality, the reader can consult the majority of the files. Some of them are subject to time limits for communication, and derogations must be requested to access them. Inventories, thematic files are available to the public to guide them in their research. Photocopies of related documents are prohibited, but photographs are permitted.

The most animated month is July with the Rencontres of the Stone in which exhibitions of sculpture, concerts and an international stone tailleurs contest are held early in the month, and a boasts jazz festival is excellent for amateurs in the middle of the month. Amateurs of rosé, you will be served, as indicated in the light panel on the edge of the motorway, on the roof of the cooperative cellar: " Tavel, first rosé of France ". It is since the th century that we drink the tavel. A favourite drink of Philippe the Bel, and then recaptured by the Popes of Avignon, tavel remains the only controlled appellation of France that produces only rosé. This famous wine is obtained through a vinification which includes a short maceration of the fallen grapes, without beginning fermentation in order to extract the fruit and the specific characters of the ripe grape of each vine: Grenache, syrah, cinsaut, mourvèdre, clairette and bourboulenc. Fresh with a salad, in the shadow of a hackberry, what can you dream of better?

One of the major archaeological sites of Southern Gaul is now made of a town located on a rocky piton offering a superb panorama over the surroundings. The site formerly occupied by a Celto-Ligurian agglomeration and then by a Gallo-Roman colony reached its peak in the High Middle ages. First village after Nîmes on the RN 86 towards Avignon, Marguerittes has no special charm. However, in the immediate vicinity of the motorway of Nîmes East, it has made it one of the most dynamic towns on the "periphery, having experienced intense population growth and economic development in the 80 s and 90 s. Set up many hotels at the exit of the motorway, a few kilometres from Nîmes. In historical terms, mills, a Romanesque church, a lavoir, a pigeon house, and the castle of Chanaleilles have been transformed into town hall. Discover, at the house of the Garrigue, a small museum on this regional ecosystem, a boutique of local products and information for a hiking tour in the country of capitelles.

Ideally placed on the plateau to which it gives its name, in the heart of Costières, the village is known for certain only by the presence of its airport, of an air base, of a motorway exit. This would be to forget the bucolic aspects of a commune that has over 20 hectares of green space, including a municipal park with its water plan, its health course and its playgrounds. As part of the 113 national road, Codognan nevertheless managed to preserve a certain identity and quality of life, which probably came from its position of door to the Petite Camargue and the beaches, for the Nîmois and all the inhabitants of the Vaunage. Like most villages in the region, Codognan has a small but very beautiful old centre that deserves a stop.

In the image of Courbessac to the east, Milhaud will soon be like some sort of nîmois neighbourhood, so the village has been absorbed as an oil stain through urbanization. Having said that, the village bypass, set up, has restored a semblance of village life to its downtown. Without special charm, the village still welcomes many shops and enjoys its proximity to the great city without the inconvenience of the city.

12 km from Nîmes, Saint-Como remains the best preserved village of the beautiful plain of Vaunage, which is also highly urbanised. Around the fountain flows a stream, Griffe, which crosses this plain from one end to the other. The village has kept a real life of proximity between its inhabitants, where we are frequent from generation to generation during memorable holidays. The temple of Saint-Como, not really antique yet, deserves the detour as well as the raised site of the mill, planted on the hill: At 200 metres above sea level, there is an unobstructed view of the Baux of the Leases at the Saint-Loup peak.

In the heart of the hills that dominate the Vistrenque and Nîmes, the road of Uzès, Poulx lives in the setting of a nature more or less preserved by the presence… military, who established a camp. At the feet of the Gardon River, the old Poulx remains pleasant to visit, a small village that lives quietly in the rhythm of its narrow streets, traditional houses, dry stone walls and. typical of the region.

A real rice farm in a 175 hectare area proposes you to discover the stages of rice cultivation in its natural surroundings.
