In the heart of the old town, a charming family tavern held by Stelios, and renowned for serving the best Greek dishes in the city: Stuffed grape leaves, delicious mushrooms with cream, stuffed lamb or moussaka, all sprinkled with a country wine, a little râpeux but pleasant. Good value for money.

To eat well in Olympia, you have to know how to get away from it all. Direction Floka, not far, on the heights. Honestly, a very good restaurant a few minutes from Olympia and far from its tourist taverns. At Théa (which means "the view", because you can enjoy a pleasant panorama), it is customary to start the meal with a particularly garlicky tzatziki or an eggplant salad. Especially ask for the excellent pasto, pork marinated in wine, orange, tomatoes and chopped omelette. A delight to enjoy on the terrace. And the prices are reasonable.

Located in the centre of the old town, this traditional tavern has had its hours of glory. Since then the owner has changed but the kitchen is still quite good. Cooked dishes, fish and all kinds of grills are on the map.

Away from the noise of the square, in the main street of Sparta, this small unpretentious restaurant offers a tasty cuisine as well as a small indoor garden in a quiet area. Pork cooked with fresh vegetables (green beans, eggplants) is excellent such as baked pork with potatoes, lamb in lemon and fresh oregano sauce, steamed meatballs and local chicken with cheese and onion. The lamb chops are also very good! The welcome is charming and the prices moderate.

In a small courtyard of Kalamata, this tavern is one of the more appraisals of the buildings. The grannies in cuisine concoct succulent light meals: eggplants roasted with feta, kayianas (a dish containing eggs, of tomato and feta), liver of beef, dandelions cooked with gray beans (mavromatika)... An elegant and intimate restaurant near the central pedestrian street of Patras. The dishes are refined and you can feel the Italian influence of Patras during the tasting: small steaks with baked potatoes and yoghurt cream, risotto with courgettes and gorgonzola, mushrooms cooked in the oven with goat cheese and wild pork sausages... The wine cellar is also well furnished. Pleasant atmosphere. We chose meat and scallops and both dishes were excellent.

Excellent gelateria kept by two Romans! One would think in Italy, the perfumes are varied and delicious. Cones are also home-made.

A beautiful address on the seaside, with an exceptional view of the Rio-Antirio bridge. A holiday resort for Athenians or Greeks from other regions, the atmosphere is friendly. A la carte, dishes combining traditional flavours and Italian influences. We liked the arugula salad with dried tomatoes, pine nuts and goat cheese from the region, linguine with mushrooms and parmesan, keftedes (meatballs in the oven) with a yogurt sauce. And what about chocolate desserts... a real delight!

A superb tavern by the sea whose quality does not decline! The quality even seems to improve over time. We particularly recommend saganaki shrimp or grilled shrimp. But everything is good and really cheap. The fish are fresh and tasty, don't hesitate to follow the waiter in the kitchen to choose the one you like! Greek ready meals are also à la carte for a very fair price. The quality of the welcome is quite exceptional. And icing on the cake: the location.

Set back on a street parallel to the waterfront, but right in the centre of Loutraki, this family-run taverna offers excellent grilled and traditional cooked dishes that you can choose from in the kitchen! Not particularly touristy, it has gained favour with the locals. The stews and dishes are prepared on a daily basis, according to the recipes of the mothers and with good local products. On the menu: stuffed tomatoes and peppers, moussaka, lamb chops, spinach rice, etc. Family atmosphere.

A traditional tavern, which has existed since 1946 and has its own! The interior is authentic with wooden walls and wooden chairs around the fireplace. But in summer, the shaded terrace is also very pleasant! The restaurant uses only local products. Grilled meats and meats are excellent, but also taste the pites (puff filled with cheese or different vegetables).

An Italian restaurant that makes very good pizzas. Open late, it allows you to enjoy pasta or pasta cooked in the wood, if you arrive at Nafplion at night. An address to remember.

Spaghetti and rigatonis, with different sauces, but also simple or composed salads are also proposed. Family atmosphere and very friendly staff. Good value for money.

Patras has some good places to taste Greek specialities. But we have to find them! A trendy bar on the port? Not only that. Stathmos coffee will serve you for dinner, in a lively atmosphere, assortments of gargantuan mezzes, souvlakis and spinach pies. Then you can enjoy burgers or hearty salads if you have already got tired of Greek cuisine. In short, a place frequented by the locals where you can have a coffee or dinner, with the added bonus of a very friendly welcome in English.

A classic tavern with very good flavours and very good prices in a pleasant setting. Indeed, you will find here a relaxing atmosphere by the sea and in a quiet corner of Kalamata. The house specialities are grilled fish and seafood products, such as squid, octopus, anchovies in vinegar, shrimps... And above all, the prices are not exaggerated in this tourist area. We could probably suggest some renovations to the owner, but the tavern is still worth a visit!

Very friendly welcome and Greek cuisine without fuss and very good, on the terrace. There are a plethora of establishments in this very busy place. But we advise you to take a short detour to Pikoulianika, a small mountain village where people eat very well! A traditional mountain restaurant where everything is homemade, with local products exclusively! You can mainly enjoy meat dishes (meatballs in red sauce, lemon chicken, grilled meats), but also baked eggplants or fried zucchini.
