In a small courtyard in Kalamata, this tavern is one of the most popular of the premises. The grannies in the kitchen have delicious dishes: aubergines cuites in oven with feta, kayianas (a dish based on eggs, tomatoes and feta), beef liver, hyacinth cooked with grey beans (mavromatika)… An address to test!

Η πιο παλιά ταβέρνα της περιοχής. Όλη η οικογένεια στο πόδι με υπέροχα ειλικρινή χαμόγελα και τεράστια καρδιά. Ο φανταστικός κήπος τους για το Καλοκαίρι με τον υπέροχο μποστάνι που παράγει τα απαραίτητα του μαγαζιού. Tip το τεράστιο πηγάδι που δεσπόζει στην είσοδο. Α μην ξεχάσω, μη ψάχνετε για πινακίδα, είναι speak easy.

Ψάχνοντας μια παλιά ταβέρνα, με στείλανε σε αυτό το υπέροχο, απλό μαγαζί, χωρίς φιοριτούρες και ψευδομοντέρνα ελληνική κουζίνα. Οι θησαυροί της παλιάς καλής ελληνικής κουζίνας, βρίσκονται ευτυχώς ακόμα σε όλη την ελληνική επικράτεια.

Μια αυθεντική, αγνή ταβέρνα! Νόστιμα, σπιτικά φαγητά από αγνές πρώτες ύλες. Όλα μαγειρεμένα με αγάπη. Καλό ροζέ κρασί και εξαιρετικό τσίπουρο. Ζέστη ατμόσφαιρα, παντού χαμόγελα.

We were lucky to find the last free table just for the 3 of us when we came hungry for dinner during our road trip around the Peloponnese at the beginning of March.
Great food and wine, super friendly staff. My wife was even invited to the kitchen so she could see and choose the food :)
