In an alleyway off Place Lučica, this establishment is both a guesthouse and a tavern-restaurant. You can enjoy a wide range of fish and seafood specialties, barbecued, drizzled with local olive oil and a slice of lemon, served on their own or with southern vegetables, rice or French fries. Meat grills are also available. Dishes are served with a glass of local white wine (pošip). While you wait for your order, you can take advantage of the pretty garden high above the town. When you enter through the main gate of the historic city, take the second street on the left to find the tavern, between the ramparts and the old facades. Its terrace is a pleasant setting to enjoy a romantic lunch or dinner. The menu offers appetizers and antipasti (grilled vegetables, tapenades, olives, cheeses and smoked ham, marinated sardines...) but also fresh pasta, fish, vegetarian dishes, good desserts, all of which are served with regional wines. The family had started by opening a konoba to give people a taste of the farm's specialties. Traditional cuisine with meats roasted under the peka (bell simmering on the ash), cold cuts(pikatić, the Dalmatian andouille, prosciutto) and grilled vegetables. Baked bread is perfect for goat cheese, oil and sauce dishes, accompanied by the house wine. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a small glass of alcohol, the welcome rakija. Another activity of the house is the production of donkey milk. Rooms are also available for rent.

A family-run restaurant with a lovely terrace, where the arbour provides welcome shade in summer. The platters of oysters and mussels are generous, and the meats, fish, prawns and fresh squid are barbecued and accompanied by grilled vegetables or hearty salads. This hotel-restaurant in the harbour, without a terrace, has a large dining room with large windows overlooking the fjord and the oyster beds. It is recommended for lovers of fish and seafood, the great speciality of Mali Ston. Although we have seen more charming surroundings, Vila Koruna is a safe bet and the family is well known in the town as it also manages the Ston salt mines. The quality of the welcome and the smile of the service team enhance the whole. Friendly atmosphere.

This establishment has managed to distinguish itself thanks to a different menu where the young chef excels in a fusion menu where different culinary styles are mixed, Mediterranean, Spanish/Basque, French, seafood, vegetarian. One comes to taste seasonal dishes prepared with delicacy on fresh and well presented products. The restaurant also offers creative cocktails and, to start the day, brunches full of freshness and vitality. Reservations are essential during the high season, when the restaurant is fully booked every evening.

On the sea promenade between Mlini and Srebreno, one of the best fish restaurants in the area. It serves whole grilled fish of the day, prawns in sauce, squid ink risotto, but also meat dishes, salads, all accompanied by local wines, either in jugs or bottles. On the steep terrain, the establishment has a small elevated terrace, with a beautiful view of the bay of Mlini. The owners also run the tourist agency Vivado and offer mini-cruises between Mlini, Cavtat, Dubrovnik.

In the kitchen you can enjoy freshly caught fish and shellfish from the sea in the village. 19 km from Cavtat, near Gruda, in the middle of the forest and yet so close to the coast, this traditional restaurant is installed in an old mill. The Konavoski Dvori is a good place to eat by the river in good weather and taste the local products of Konavle. On the menu, Dalmatian ham and goat cheese, grilled lamb and veal, kebabs, freshwater trout and local wines. All served on a plate simply presented but brought by waitresses wearing the folk costume.

Situated in an ideal location for yachtsmen, with particularly well-sheltered pitches in the small port, the Orsan is prized by sailors and artists. It was built in a boat shelter, a pretty stone building with a pleasant terrace. Taste the house specialities, the marinated amberjack, the gnocchi of the sea or the black risotto with shellfish, mussels, shrimps and octopus, a kind of Dalmatian paella cooked in sea water with the personal touch of the chef, all washed down with regional wines.

This good family restaurant and its terrace are perched at the top of a stone staircase and decorated with fishing nets. Just the setting makes you want to. But we come especially to Konoba Peggy for its traditional cuisine that the chef in the kitchen knows how to sublimate. The menu highlights local products such as fresh fish but it is also possible to order meat dishes. The menu is varied, the plates well presented and the portions rather generous. We salute the pleasant welcome, the professional service and the atmosphere.

This restaurant, with a breathtaking view of the bay, serves mainly Adriatic specialities (octopus salads, shellfish and, depending on availability, whole grilled fish dishes). The octopus prepared on the grill is tasty. You can't find it in every restaurant that offers seafood cuisine... Some meat dishes, like čevapčići or kebabs. Next to the Benedictine monastery, this former barracks, recently renovated in modern wood, now serves as a restaurant. With its two openings, you can enjoy the sun on one of the south-facing terraces. The restaurant has already made its reputation on the Dubrovnik side. It offers a menu of tasty fish, beef with a local wine sauce (Dingac) and seasonal salads. The presentation is neat, as is the service. Lacroma is the more "gastro" version of the snack bar located just at the arrival on the island, near the port.

This restaurant has gone from a simple, hearty menu at reasonable prices to more sophisticated (and more expensive) offerings based around fisherman's cuisine. But it remains a safe bet in Dubrovnik. On the menu, healthy food, Greek or Parmesan salads, seafood platters with whole grilled fish, mussels and rice with dried ink, seafood tagliatelle, but also burgers, beef or fried sausages, among others. Fast service all day long. For dessert, try the delicious chocolate cake with ice cream.

From the Pile Gate, in the second narrow street on the left side of Stradun, you arrive at the Stari Grad. Whether you are a guest or not, you can go up to the^5th floor to discover the roof terrace and the spectacular view of the old town. The semi-gastronomic restaurant serves Dalmatian specialties, carefully prepared dishes based on fresh local market products, meat, fish and seafood. The desserts are also excellent. Reservations are recommended.

In the old town, it's sometimes hard to choose between the touristy signs side by side. But you won't be disappointed at Pupo. It serves breakfast (in the Pasticceria Pupica corner) and, for lunch and dinner, quality fisherman's cuisine: fish steak, risotto from the sea, shellfish and brudet, all at good value for money. For dessert, traditional cakes and pastries with citrus fruits, carrots and almonds, served with chocolate cream. Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly service.

Original terrace on wide steps at the foot of the cable car, close to the Ploče gate, and with a beautiful view of the sea and the old port. The Gusta Me menu features shellfish and fish ( buzara mussels, catch of the day, langoustines...), as well as seafood risotto and fresh pasta. For those with a more moderate appetite, lighter, less expensive dishes such as burgers and club sandwiches are available at lunchtime. In the evening, dine to the sound of acoustic music. The restaurant also serves delicious breakfasts.

Hidden behind a door on Rue Miha Pracata, this hard-to-find konoba in the old town is well worth the trip up the stairs! Here, local produce takes pride of place, with a modern twist and a taste for Asian-Dalmatian fusion (wok, sashimi...). From homemade pasta to fish dishes for two, as well as beef, duck and chicken specialties, the choice is vast. A big plus: an amazing wine list selected by the owner, a native of Pelješac.

A few wooden tables in the shade of a roof and a stone's throw from the sea, the smell of French fries, hamburgers and sausages... Divna's beach bar is the ideal place to grab a bite to eat or a drink and take a break from the scorching sun. As the beach offers little shelter from the sun, you won't be alone in choosing this little kiosk to eat, drink or simply relax in the shade. Avoid peak times, as you're likely to be waiting a long time. Our favorite dishes are fried squid and fried fish.

At aperitif time, this wine bar and restaurant serves its customers in the alley on small wooden tables. You can order trays, plates, bowls or sandwiches for a fresh and colorful assortment of Dalmatian tapas. For example, fried and foamed fish, seafood or marinated anchovies, cheese and cold cuts with arugula and olives, all accompanied by a white or red wine of the region, served by the glass or bottle. Also grilled meats, pasta and good desserts.

Just a few meters from the main bus station, Bistro 49 is the perfect place to take a relaxing break with your luggage while waiting for the bus to arrive! If you have to leave early, the establishment serves excellent breakfasts and at lunch and dinner, quick formulas well adapted for travelers (bruschettas, burgers) or sausage and French fries, fresh pasta with sauce and vegan plates. Smiling service and reasonable prices. On game nights, we meet in a good mood around craft beers.

Croatia's first Hard Rock Café opened its doors in April 2023 in Dubrovnik's former cloister of the Poor Clares. The 850^m2 space can accommodate over 400 people. You can sit inside, in the beautiful courtyard, or in another outdoor area overlooking the large Onofrio fountain. On the menu are burgers and snacks typical of the British chain, as well as cocktails and live music in the evenings. A small boutique sells T-shirts, hats, badges, glasses and other accessories.

Opening in 2022, Kiosk (literally "kiosk") is the brainchild of the team behind the famous Azur in the old town. As in its first restaurant, the gastronomic offering here too blends local tradition with flavours from elsewhere. The Kiosk menu features ramen, pork tostada, sushi and four versions of the popular Hawaiian dish poke (vegan, tuna, salmon and chicken). The atmosphere is relaxed and the quality/price ratio quite good. Ideal for a gourmet break in the Gruž district!

The speciality of the house is the fish processed in an elaborate way in stew, the Korčulanska popara. There is also lobster risotto with cognac. Every year, new recipes appear on the menu and for those who prefer meat, there will always be a steak, grilled lamb or pork chops! Marko opened a second tavern called Dubravka, not far from there.

With a very good location, this snack bar is both a takeaway (sandwich, pizza, nugget, grilled squid, chips, onion rings, etc.) and a restaurant, with well-placed tables overlooking the sea. Croatian, Italian and international fusion cuisine, where tapas and vegetarian cakes interact on the menu with the house speciality, parmida (a kind of moussaka), a plate of cold meats and local cheese with salads and hot or cold soups. For a quick, good and cheap lunch or dinner!

Kapetanova kuća is an institution in Mali Ston! This large restaurant on the harbor, known throughout the country, serves fish dishes, seafood platters and Dalmatian cuisine. Of course, they serve oysters in all their forms! Inside, the décor is rustic, with stone walls and wooden elements in the large rooms. Outside, the tables facing the sea and surrounded by the hedge are the ideal place to indulge in fish dishes. Beware, you should not be in a hurry, as the service can be slow.

We can only applaud this address, opened in 2015 opposite the peaceful Lapad marina. The original structure of this stone-built Ragusan villa is enhanced by a sober, trendy design. Plates include fish, excellent salads and Cajun chicken wraps. Several tasty vegetarian options. World cuisine and freshly grilled dishes to share with friends (several tapas formulas). Take a look at the cocktail menu, which hides a few surprises. Great atmosphere.

A shady terrace facing the sea, an address you will surely return to if you drop anchor in the port of Polače. The home cooking at this konoba is a real delight. While salads are common, you have to try the seafood risottos, sardines and grilled vegetables here unless you are more into lobster or crawfish. Even the fish soup is a surprise! Mijote also offers dishes under the peka, to be requested in advance (usually at least 24 hours in advance)! As for the service, it would be difficult to do better.

Opinions are divided on this seaside restaurant, east of the port, opened in 1936. What is certain is the terrace "feet in the water", one of the most enviable on the island with a magnificent view. Fish restaurant but also tea room, with pancakes or pastries for the afternoon. High prices, but well-prepared dishes and tasty cuisine. Octopus, tuna carpaccio, grilled fish or fish soup: several dishes are recommended. Don't forget to try the small red peppers stuffed with cheese as a starter.

This comfortable "ranch", with its large farmhouse decor and inviting terrace, makes you feel like you're in the country. Some say that you can taste the best macaroni à la Žrnovo on the island... In any case, the grills and peka are a pleasure to see and even more to eat! The locals also come here for a drink in the evening and the cocktail menu is indeed worth a visit. The brothers Ivan and Jakša, the owners of the konoba, share the roles: Ivan is at the stove, while Jakša takes care of the cocktails.

Located just past the marina on the street leading to Lumbarda, the elegant Korsal Hotel restaurant overlooks the Adriatic Sea from the hotel's terrace areas. The fresh cuisine (fish, meat, traditional island dishes...) is complemented by state-of-the-art service. The tables are set outside facing the sea, but there is also the possibility of dining inside in the old wine cellar. The selection of reds and whites from the island is quite remarkable. To taste, the bar à la Korsal.

A restaurant with terrace installed in the central pedestrian street, where you can take your time under the arbour. A very small room inside and a few tables in the shade outside (so it may be crowded at noon). On the menu, the great classics of the Dalmatian coast: meat dishes, grilled fish, shellfish in sauce, salads, pastries... Uneven service. Among our favourite dishes, the green tagliatelle with seafood and the octopus salad. They also serve mussels and oysters from the bay of Ston.

This small bakery, 300 m from the port of Gruž and 200 m from the bus station, makes very good bureks. These puff pastry cakes filled with meat and cream cheese are a little oily, but delicious. For dessert, a small bottle of water, doughnuts and various cakes. Let yourself be tempted by what its window displays and point out what you want... The bakery is open all the time, so you can get your supplies quickly before jumping on your bus or ferry! Smiley service.

Konoba Nonno, known for its Žrnovo macaroni (a traditional dish from the namesake village on the island of Korčula), moved in the summer of 2016 to Petar Kanavelić Promenade, along the city walls. A victim of its success, the quality sometimes suffers and the prices remain very high, no doubt due to this new location facing the sea. If you have the opportunity to drop by at the beginning or end of the season, when it is more breathable in this part of the city, let yourself be tempted by the fish dishes, not to mention the traditional pasta.

The restaurant at Prijeko Palace, one of Ragusa's oldest private mansions, with its tables carefully arranged on Prijeko alley (where the old vine, or stara loza, climbs), is a real draw. The à la carte menu includes tuna tartare, octopus, homemade gnocchi and several vegetarian options... To dine on the terrace and enjoy the view of the old town, advance reservations are essential (4 people maximum). For breakfast, the Stara Loza restaurant offers a range of interesting savory and sweet options.

Overlooking the port, towards the national park, one of the most popular fishermen's restaurants on the island. Its iodized grills are renowned, as are the plates cooked under the peka (especially the octopus). If you want to try different things, consider ordering a fish dish for two (or more) people. The portions are very copious. Finally, the setting is simple and the atmosphere very pleasant, but it can be very crowded, especially at lunchtime. It's best to make a reservation to make sure you get a table.

The name "Gil" is no longer on the stove, but the name has been kept as well as the gastronomic line. The menu, resolutely inspired by France, uses the region's leading ingredients to accommodate meat and fish. It will therefore come as no surprise to see the gratin dauphinois cohabit with grilled vegetables. For those who are in need of French cuisine but open to the mix of cultures. Pleasant atmosphere and diverse population. Attentive service and elegantly presented plates. Good wine list as well.

The Pučić Palace is first and foremost a beautiful luxury hotel in the old town, but on the ground floor it also houses a brasserie that goes by the name of Café Royal (while on the first floor, on the terrace, there is the restaurant La Cappella, open only in summer). In an almost Parisian atmosphere, this café offers traditional Dalmatian dishes and breakfast formulas. Nothing to report about the dishes, which remain correct but not very greedy. The prices are rather high but not more than elsewhere in town.

The stone terrace overlooks the sea, which is the main attraction of this restaurant, itself located on the prettiest pedestrian promenade in the Lapad district. A well-stocked fish and seafood menu (lobster, langoustines, salt-crusted fish...), as well as several meat dishes and a vegetarian plate. Other house specialties include stuffed and baked mozzarella, or truffle risotto with Dalmatian pršut (prosciutto). A fine list of local wines. Very pleasant service.

Founded in 1886, Proto is one of the oldest establishments in the old town. Renovated a few years ago, it has retained its historic patina. On the walls, engravings show the plans of the Republic of Ragusa. You can also sit in the alleyway or on the roof terrace. Dalmatian classics and refined recipes are served here. For example: whole lobster with fresh pasta, white fish court-bouillon, lamb and braised vegetables. All under the direction of Croatian chef Boško Lonac.

This large fish and shellfish restaurant remains one of Dubrovnik's most popular tourist spots, not least because of its location. The atmosphere is friendly and the setting beautiful, just behind the Rector's Palace, with a view of the small boats coming and going in the old port. As for the quality of the food, you'll surely find better in town. Fried or grilled calamari, marinated mussels, tuna pâté and octopus salad... you'll find all the region's great classics here.

This address is to be deserved, the path is stony but the reward is at the end of the road. On the Smrč plateau, south of the hamlet of Postrana, take the small road that goes down to the bay of Defora. The stone property facing the sea is surrounded by lemon, pomegranate and fig trees. The vegetables from the garden accompany the grilled meat and fish. When in season, at the end of summer or in autumn, you can try the house specialties, the recipes based on Dalmatian cabbage (zelje). All of this is accompanied by wine from the estate.
