If you're lucky enough to visit in the off-season, you'll discover a large, very contemporary restaurant with a retro-futuristic Mediterranean style and a resolutely urban feel. It offers fine plates of modern cuisine based on traditional Dalmatian recipes. A good selection of regional wines, with a charcuterie/cheese platter or burgers in the bistronomy formulas. Higher prices than elsewhere.

On the first floor of the palace Papalić, dating from the 15th century, is a restaurant where Mediterranean recipes (grilled fish, seafood risotto) are combined with international dishes, such as beef burgers with foie gras sauce, cheesecake, carrot cake. It's one of the addresses that's still in vogue with the locals. We appreciate the setting, the presentation, the market cuisine, the fresh seasonal produce. The service is rather fast and attentive. Friendly atmosphere, local and touristic at the same time.

The Roić family welcomes you in this old building built in 1643, well restored. You can sit in the dining room or on the terrace, in the shade of palm trees, with a view of the pretty port. Adriatic cuisine, mainly concocted with the catch of the day, local products (southern vegetables, cold meats and cheeses), fresh pasta, homemade ravioli or risotto, all worked with the excellent olive oil of the house. For dessert, a speciality not to be missed: the orange cake, a delight.

A must in Split for carnivores with exceptional meats matured on site. The menu changes every three months, and in winter there are meat dishes, charcuterie platters and local cheese. Vegetarians are entitled to the famous varivo, a complete soup of fresh and dried vegetables. In summer, seafood salads, fish of course, and all year round, good desserts, such as dark chocolate fondant. Nice selection of Croatian wines (excellent wine cellar inside the establishment where you can buy your own bottle).

To findtaverns(konoba), quality wine bars or more authentic tables, you have to move away from the port. On the heights of the village, this family-run establishment is the perfect answer. Inside, the dining room has a sober but warm decoration. Outside, the tables climb up the alley. Fresh fish and seafood are presented to you raw on a tray. As for meat, lamb on the spit, a specialty of the island, is served sliced with small vegetables. Good list of regional wines. Reservations are recommended.

Just 3 km from the center of Supetar, on the road to Nerežišća, this restaurant-tavern welcomes you on its dominating terrace. The view of the sea extends to the coast, where the lights of Split and Trogir shine at night. You will appreciate all the more the Dalmatian cuisine served here: the platter of cold meats and local cheeses with salad, the grilled fish of the dayor the sheep meat turned on the spit with southern vegetables, fried potatoes or blitva, the pašticada with local wines as accompaniment... But for a more relaxed meal, you can go to the restaurant of the Horizont hotel, just next door. Here you can enjoy refined Dalmatian cuisine, inspired by Japan, carefully prepared seafood dishes, grilled meat with finely cut vegetables. A beautiful Croatian wine list and high quality service.
