Getting around by boat and ferry Istria

On the southeast side of the harbor, 1 km from the old town, the marina enjoys good protection from the wind. It has recently been refurbished to suit the clientele of the Grand Hotel Park, a luxury hotel just opposite. Boaters enjoy the best views of Rovinj's historic center. On-site services include harbor master's office and reception, currency exchange, laundry, café-restaurants, free Wi-Fi, specialized stores and boutiques, and nautical repair equipment.

On the northwest coast of Istria, in a naturally deep and sheltered cove of the Bay of Novigrad, a first-class marina has been built. It is very well designed, perfectly conceived in terms of the layout of the quays (365 berths and 50 dry berths), and offers a wide range of activities and facilities, paying special attention to wealthy yachtsmen staying at the Hotel Nautica just opposite. For them, there is a popular gastronomic table in the evenings, wellness facilities and concerts.

In the south of the bay, this is an urban marina with 129 berths and a modern technical and sanitary infrastructure. It offers boaters services available 24 hours a day. To the south-east of the town centre, in the extension of the sea promenade(riva), this recently renovated marina offers many services for boaters (sanitary facilities, reception, Internet access, bar-restaurant). The Venezia Line company connects the ports of Istria with Venice. Jadrolinija, Adriatic Lines and Jadroagent provide rotations to the islands of the Gulf of Kvarner (Unije-Susak-Mali Lošinj-Ilovik-Silba) as far as Zadar. Many cruise operators offer day trips to the Brioni archipelago or the Gulf of Kvarner.

This Italian shipping company - which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2023 - has a strong presence in the Adriatic Sea. During the tourist season from May to the end of October, its ferries and catamarans run between the Italian, Slovenian and Croatian coasts. As such and for the quality of its equipment, it has received several international awards and has been proclaimed the best marina on the eastern Adriatic coast on several occasions. Approximately 6 km north of the historic centre, well sheltered from the winds, this large marina is an integral part of the Plava Laguna hotel resort complex. For boaters, 220 boat berths as well as 30 dry berths are available. In summer, come early in the day or make a reservation! All services are available all year round: harbour master's office and reception for check-in before 8pm, maintenance and repairs, sanitary facilities with hot water, mini-market, exchange office, hotels, café-restaurants near the marina.

In the Bay of Molindrio, about 6 km south of the historic centre, the marina and the beach of Zelena Laguna (green lagoon) form the southern peninsula of the bay. Just opposite is the Marina Parentium, usually sheltered from a strong west wind or the bora which can cause some swells. Boaters will find there 150 boat places as well as 70 dry berths and a maintenance and servicing room. Other services include a harbour master's office, sanitary facilities with hot water, parking, yacht clubs, hotels and bar-restaurants nearby.

To complete the formalities and find out about sailing conditions around the Brioni National Park, moor up along the breakwater at quay N, where you'll find the harbourmaster's office and customs. Note that this marina is so popular in summer that if you want to stop off in Poreč, you'd better arrive in the early afternoon to be sure of finding a berth. The area on the SW shore of the Hotel Riviera is used to moor smaller boats.
