Things to see and do Haute-Saône

If your goal boils down to the castle, you will be pleasantly surprised to discover a much larger historical and architectural heritage. At the departure of the park on the banks of Saône in Rupt-sur-Saône, you go on the assault of a two-and-a-half kilometres walk around this "village of the three hills". Follow the blue arrows, and take the time to read the signs that are your journey. The lion fountain, the tomb of the Comte d'Orsay, and several other fountains and washing await you on foot, as well as of course the castle and its dungeon.

Between stones and vineyards. To find the starting point for this trail, just climb the aisle that borders the tourist office, go to the Art and Technology Museum and continue a few metres. The trail is punctuated by 30 panels that tell the history of the site (here are the stones used for building roofs and walls) and present the local fauna and flora. A country walk, easy and informative.

In 1973, Vesoul saw the establishment of Peugeot establishments in the industrial area of Vesoul-Noidans. In order to carry out this extension project, an increase in land is necessary and involves the removal of a large volume of backfill. This cavity over 86 hectares and 2 metres deep will become a lake, and therefore a recreation area for the joy of both large and small. Hiking around the lake, observation of wildlife and flora, water park, tennis and water sports base will gradually be the day.

Housed in the former Ursuline convent, the Maison du Tourisme de l'Agglomération de Vesoul is a must for visitors wishing to discover the riches of the region. Visitors can find city maps, tourist guides, presentation brochures and information on upcoming events. What's more, the Maison du Tourisme offers internet access for hotel bookings and event information. Cyclists are also welcome, as the Maison du Tourisme has been awarded the "Accueil Vélo" label. Finally, the Maison du Tourisme also features a temporary exhibition room showcasing local artists every month.

Institut Griottines inaugurated in 2009 by the Grandes Distilleries Peureux is a new unique concept gathering 3 spaces dedicated to different but complementary activities in one building: a magnificent Griottines shop; 3 specialised laboratories one in pastry, one in chocolate and the third one in cooking and; finally a cooking course and professional demonstrations centre for individuals. All this on a total area of about 450 m ², including 188 m ² dedicated to the Griottines shop. Various events are held throughout the year at the Institute for individual demonstrations and courses. 

The Velleminfroy bottling plant and factory store are a must for mineral water lovers. For those wishing to learn more about how Velleminfroy mineral water is made, free guided tours of the bottling plant are available all year round. You can also extend your visit by discovering the showroom, where Velleminfroy water is showcased. The Renaissance space, which houses the bottling plant, also features an exhibition, a film on the history of Velleminfroy mineral water, a tasting session and a sales area. It should be noted, however, that the Renaissance area is only open to groups by appointment.
