SETMANA SANTA

The Setmana Santa is a commemoration of the death and resurrection of Christ, particularly celebrated in Spain. It begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday. It attracts as many faithful as tourists to the streets, all of whom come to attend the spectacular processions and other liturgical reproductions of the last days of Christ, organised by the brotherhoods. In the towns and villages of Ibiza, as in Spain, Holy Week generally marks the beginning of the tourist season.
