Cyril and Véro, respectively BE climbing and canyoning and mountain leader, have formed since 2014 a young and dynamic team that will take you to their favourite playgrounds for half-day or full-day outings, or even for complete stays over several days, 100% canyoning for example. This is the place to go for horseback rides in the area, especially through the Etang-Salé forest to the beach at sunset. There are also lessons and introductory courses. This is on the departmental road above the forest, closer to Etang-Salé-les-Hauts than to the village of Les Avirons. It is set in a huge property with bucolic charm. The farm can also provide meals for small groups.

A sporty hike with varied landscapes, feasible over two days. Starting from Grand-Galet, the path crosses pineapple plantations. The terrain is flat as far as the chapel of Cap-Blanc, where you can bivouac and take water. We then cross a forest of filaos, then the climb is steep to Grand-Pays and the ramparts of the volcano. You will see waterfalls and a natural arch. Behind the mountain, the Plain of Sands appears: a spectacular reward!

This pleasant seaside walk starts off strong: the starting point of the Coastal Path is none other than the Étang-Salé abyss. Formed by lava flows, this natural corridor causes the ocean to rumble when it rushes in, hitting the rocks. This trail will first make you crawl over the volcanic rocks, before leading you to the sand dunes and finally to pebble beaches. Your destination, the Étang du Gol, is 7.6 kilometres away.

This accrobranche offers eight courses of varying difficulty, punctuated by 130 games. In the middle of the forest of cryptomerias of Makes, you will evolve on Tibetan bridges, zip lines, suspended platforms, etc... Two of them benefit from a unique system of continuous lifeline, which allows you to complete the whole course without detaching yourself, thus offering optimal safety and access to the youngest. The other courses, sometimes 12 metres above the ground, will provide more thrills. Possibility to eat at the refreshment bar (on reservation).

This equestrian centre takes you, on the back of Mérens, to discover the exceptional panoramas of the surroundings. The horses are docile and reassuring for beginners. For children, the club offers baby ponies and ponies that they can brush before setting off on a ride. After a ride in the arena to learn the basic rules and become familiar with the animal, departure for an experience in the heart of nature. Note that there is also a campground.

This eighteen-hole course, the oldest on the island, is located in the forest of Étang-Salé and covers more than 68 hectares, full of flowers and greenery. The course is very well maintained and quite technical. There are also training areas, a driving range, a swimming pool and three tennis courts. There is a brasserie for refreshments. The whole family is welcome. If you don't want to drive back home, you can take a helicopter to Pierrefonds airport with Mafate Hélicoptère, partner of the golf course.

The trail starts at Takamaka. It's a hike on lava gratons, you must bring sturdy shoes and water. We cross the entire coule through the Takamaka gully to the Takamaka peak at about 1,000 m above sea level and then we descend through the Lemon-Pebble gully. One can also continue higher, or even camp. Count then 8 to 10 hours to reach the road to the Plaine des Sables or the pas de Bellecombe and especially a difference in altitude of 2 400 m!

To the south of the Reunion, this small loop of 1 h 30 proposes you to discover the landscapes of L'Étang-Salé. Here, easy to locate: one side of the loop runs along a pipe that goes down to the city. The journey can be made in both directions, the important being to arrive at the summit, marked by a white cross; Enjoy a panoramic view of the municipality and the Ocean. You will discover throughout this easy walk of endemic plant species: you have to recognise them!

The trail begins at the stele of Thérésien Cadet, the professor who drew the attention of biologists to the richness of this forest. This primary forest installed on an ancient lava flow presents species that have for the most part disappeared from the rest of the island. Signs will inform you about the species to be observed and their main characteristics. Two other loops of one hour each also allow you to explore the forest.

The Club Hippique du Tampon is an association under the law of 1901. It is an elementary riding school, an FFE-approved training center and a renowned organizer of dressage and show jumping competitions, soon to be followed by acrobatics and horse-ball . Open days and various events are organized throughout the year, as well as introductory and advanced courses and pony rides for the little ones. A well-run, lively and dynamic club, thanks to the professionalism and positive energy of the current team.

Trout fishing is Langevin's speciality. This park allows you to do so in the magnificent setting of the eponymous river. You will be able to bring your equipment, if not the park provides it as well as bait. The team will clean your trout, empty them and pack them under ice. Just bring your cooler! Another option: to taste it on the spot. The chef will prepare it for you. His essential recipe: trout marinated in spices, watercress salad and coconut rice.

Le Dimitile is renowned for its many hiking possibilities. To reach the summit (1,850 m), the Boeuf la Chapelle trail is the shortest and most accessible route. The hike begins in Entre-Deux, at the foot of Dimitile. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. The first part of the climb is steep and can be difficult for those not used to hiking. As you go up, the vegetation becomes denser and the view opens up to the south of the island and then to the cirque de Cilaos. A magnificent hike.

Bruno offers excursions on electrically-assisted mountain bikes to discover the Dimitile region on your own. A volunteer fireman originally from Entre-Deux, he owns a small Creole house there, which has become his base. He provides five AE mountain bikes (Giant, 840 W battery). A good basic knowledge of cycling is required before venturing out on the trails, which start in the village. Bruno provides a trail map. On request, he can arrange meals and even overnight accommodation in a gîte, if you wish to take your time on the trail.

If you'd like to see the town in a way other than on foot, why not explore Saint-Pierre on a gyropod? This is an original mode of transport on Réunion Island, and one you won't find anywhere else on the island.
