The Cellier Saint-Pierre is a reference in terms of good wines. Located opposite the cathedral, whose square has been redone, the cellar offers a choice of over 500 references. The Champagne region is well represented with great houses as well as harvesters-manipulators from the Aube region, then the offer opens up to other regions, with stronger and international spirits such as a range of Japanese whiskies. But it is not a simple wine shop, since the renovation of the adjacent buildings in noble materials. Superb buildings that also house exhibitions from time to time.

Established since 1985 in Villenauxe-la-Grande, Frédéric Torchet has been marketing his vintages since 2000. At his place, the press can be visited, the champagne can be tasted and the profession can be discovered during the visit that he imagined with Élise. Delight for the senses, the tasting of their wines allows to discover the specificities of their favorite soil. Their 2013 vintage, their Blanc de Noirs des Riceys and their Blanc de Blancs offer us a taste of happiness.

We like the warm welcome, the old press and the beautiful vaulted cellars that we find here. Unavoidable, the Horiot champagne deserves a visit for its cuvées: the special Cuvée Jean-Baptiste, a blend of mostly chardonnay and pinot noir, with its beautiful golden yellow color; its Champagne Brut Rosé, elaborated by maceration in wooden vats, with a dark color compared to a blended rosé (white+red mixed), a pretty raspberry color.

Pascal, Pierre and Aurélien Gerbais manage 14 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with pinot noir and chardonnay, but also with meunier and a "forgotten" grape variety: pinot blanc vrai. The vines produce a fine range of Champagnes, all of which are made here in the family press: Réserve, Rosé, L'Audace, Rosé de Saignée, Coteaux Champenois Rouge, Prestige and the jewel in the crown, "l'Originale", a 100% pinot blanc Champagne, an extremely rare and astonishing wine to pack in your suitcases and impress your guests!

We arrive here in a very beautiful stone house with a square tower and vaulted cellars dating from the 17th century. It is Vincent Bartnicky who will make you discover his House and his wines. At his place, the bottles are still stirred by hand, an operation that precedes the disgorging phase. You will find 100% pinot noir champagnes or pinot/chardonnay blends. We especially like the cuvée Elegarose and the cuvée Fût de chêne, original and convivial wines.

Founded in 1862, this 7-hectare family estate has passionately cultivated a love of its terroir for several generations. Atypical and committed, Anne-Laure Beerens, the current owner, is part of this promising young generation of winemakers. Accompanied on a daily basis by Olivier Desfosse and Marie-Eve Beerens, the trio has developed a know-how of excellence to produce wines of the highest quality. Terra Vitis certified, the house cultivates 5 grape varieties, including pinot blanc and pinot gris, and offers 6 chiselled, multi-medaled cuvées.

La Belle Gabrielle is the store where the wines produced by the cooperative uniting about a hundred wine growers of the Essoyes region are sold under the name "Champagne Charles Collin", named after one of the founders. "La Belle Gabrielle" is not only the name of the establishment, but also that of one of the vintages of Charles Collin, which you can buy in this store located near the Espace Renoir. Other vintages will also delight you among the traditional vintages, the Prestige vintages and the vintage champagnes.

The Caveau des Riceys is a warm place that allows tourists or locals to take a break and discover the three AOCs of the town as well as the products made in Aube. To enhance the tastings, you can eat planks of local delicatessen and cheeses, and if you feel like it, invest in nice spittoons and embark on the adventure of oenologists. Themed evenings, oenological or otherwise, are very popular, but require registration. The tables on the terrace are a good place to rest in the middle of a stroll through the vineyards.

This vast estate of 40 ha is mainly planted with pinot noir and worked in reasoned culture. The wines benefit from a minimum of 22 months of aging, and the result is very qualitative for a very good price/pleasure ratio. Discover their authentic cuvées, full of conviviality.The classics: Brut Sélection (70% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay) and Brut Rosé (70% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay).The pure ones: Brut Nature Zéro dosage (50% pinot noir, 50% chardonnay) and Brut BDB (100% chardonnay). In this village bordering Burgundy, with its pretty stone-built lanes and many impressive porches, we come across this house offering a fine range of champagnes made in the family, with an annual production of some 35,000 bottles. 7 fine, chiselled wines to discover. Enough to satisfy all tastes for a very interesting price/quality ratio. Not to mention their coteau-champenois, a real treat for the palate!

This family business is currently managed by Didier Goussard, oenologist, and Jean-Claude Dauphin. Their Champagne Brut Tradition is a 100% pinot noir cuvée that will be the perfect accompaniment to traditional dishes and local cuisine. The Champagne Brut Prestige (60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir) is perfect for an impromptu aperitif. A favorite is the Brut Rosé, with its aromas of candied fruits and its sweet and fresh flavors. A little jewel!

Today, Isabelle and her husband Michel run the estate, preserving the family tradition. This new generation of winegrowers has focused on exports (over 60% of total sales). Their 11-hectare vineyard is cultivated with a truly eco-responsible approach, using as few chemicals as possible. The grape varieties planted are predominantly Pinot Noir (80%). The wines faithfully reveal the imprint of their terroirs. Hats off to the Brut Nature and its aromas of rhubarb marmalade.

The brand was created in the early 1970s, inspired by the name of the ^18th-century seigneur of Les Riceys: the Marquis de Pomereuil. Elegance and character: the house's range includes the Cuvée des Fondateurs, a blend of 2/3 Chardonnay and 1/3 Pinot Noir. Champagne Marquis de Pomereuil also produces two champagne rosé cuvées, Rosé des Riceys and coteaux-champenois. Special mention goes to the coteaux rouge, with its fruity, supple and slightly woody aromas.

The Jacques Defrance estate, located in the heart of the Côte des Bar, has been producing an exceptional range of wines since 1867, including the famous Les Riceys rosé. Since 1988, Christophe Defrance, at the head of the vineyard, has undertaken a reasoned culture that respects biodiversity. All the soils of the domain are mechanically cultivated. And since 2017, the estate is certified Terra Vitis and more recently HVE level 3. A favorite is the Natives cuvée and its notes of mirabelle plum and pear.

We love the charm of this beautiful property and it is in the company of the master of the place or his wife that we will see the 17th century cellars and the traditional wine press. The vineyard represents 8.7 hectares, mostly planted with pinot noir, 10 ares being devoted to chardonnay and 20 ares to pinot meunier. For the tasting, the Wenner couple is pleased to share with us their daily life as harvester-manipulants and to let us discover their vintages: Brut Tradition, Champagne Réserve, Vintage 2014, Champagne Rosé, Rosé des Riceys...

On this estate, a visit to the estate is always accompanied by a member of the family. The family has been involved in winegrowing for a long time. They first became involved in the business in the 1960s/1970s, when the city of Troyes was expanding towards Montgueux. Tradition, passion and terroir are the watchwords of the house, where the vines have been cultivated using sustainable methods for the past 15 years. She will make you discover the different vintages of the range, among which l'Intemporelle and Les Simmonés that we distinguished for their roundness and their elegance. Isabelle will also be your hostess if you stay in one of her 3 gites installed in typical houses of the Champagne vineyard.

In this house on the outskirts of the village, the 22-hectare vineyard has been cultivated for over two centuries, respecting tradition. The range is truly beautiful and full of nuances. You'll love their champagne rosé, made from pinot noir maceration, and the cuvée Blanc de Noir Millésime 2006, a 100% pinot noir with excellent ageing potential, which you'll enjoy with foie gras terrine and gingerbread crumble.
