The Bouchet Castle is built on the highest "button" of Brenne: the highest eminence of sandstone. Built in red sandstone, it dominates its environment. Its oldest buildings, the logis and two towers, dates back to the xiiith century. There are also two dungeons: the largest of the xivth century and the xve small. Two wings of the castle were rebuilt in the seventeenth century in the classic style. Recently sold, the castle opened its doors in 2018. Rooms that have previously been closed to the public are visible. From the terrace, we have a magnificent view of the beautiful pond of the Red Sea. After the castle visit, take the air on the Red Sea. A beautiful walk runs along the pond. It is very busy on Sundays.

The museum is located in an ancient house, just next to the one where the great adventurer died. Henry de Monfreid (1879-1974) was an adventurer, writer (70 novels) and a painter: he is a figure to discover! The museum presents watercolours and personal memories of the writer. Video mounts also present their multiple journeys.

The Saint Martin Church in Prissac has enjoyed a complete renovation. It's a modest building, two neves. The bell tower dates from the twelfth century, but most of the church was rebuilt in the fifteenth century. It has beautiful wall paintings from the end of the Middle Ages. There is the representation of Saint Catherine, a martyr of Saint Andrew and one of Saint Sebastian. In the chapel, the «Say of the Three Dead and Three Vifs» is staged, near the representation of the four evangelists. Parts are missing, but a leaflet is available in the church and the site provides very complete explanations. In statute, one notes a saint Martin in wood and a saint Radegonde stone.

The Wheat Halle was once an important place for local trade, especially grain. This beautiful building belonged to the prince of Talleyrand before being bought by the city of Valençay. The roof roof and the ground floor were then replaced a new construction, the one you can observe now. Red bricks and white tuffwater give a lot of character to this hall located in the small village of Valençay. This museum tells all Brenne. It offers a superb collection of over 800 birds of all sizes and presents life in the old Brenne. It contains geological studies of a region's prehistorian and models of rural houses. The presentation of metallurgical activity, from the Gallic era to the large forges, is very pedagogical (animated model). It describes the system of ponds and the activities of this wetland. Admire the great model of the Naillac castle, as it should be in the xve century. And enjoy the view of the city. Temporary exhibition from July to September.

The Pont-Vieux has existed since the beginning of the town's construction, at the foot of the fortress, hence its name as «bridge-old». In the eighteenth century houses and shops of one or more floors were installed on the bridge itself (a panonceau at its foot reproduced a vision of that era). Today, the view is very picturesque on the mills and their pavements. The bridge is surrounded by old wooden houses that are reflected in Creuse.

Enjoy the bridge, only, between friends or in love, and why not walk on the Creuse edges. The mill has lost its wheels but retains a certain charm, and it is rightly a subject of choice for painters and photographers.
