From the name of a gourmet specialty, made of a crunchy layer of cooked sugar that contains, oh my, a delicious soft chocolate caramel. This sweetness takes its name from the sovereign of Ethiopia, Negeus Menelik, who was visiting at the time of its creation in 1902. This house, founded in 1893, has kept a frontage with a remarkable cachet with its antique formwork, while the interior decoration is of oriental style. Other specialties make the gourmets fall in love: chocolate candies, pralines, spreads, confectionery, fruit jellies.

At the foot of the Priory and in a more than charming setting, you can taste the famous Charitois, a specialty of nearly 100 years, soft caramel with chocolate or coffee, coated with cooked sugar; taste the Pavé du Prieuré, the Muscadines, blackcurrant pearls and enjoy a homemade hot chocolate... What delights! In summer, go through the small door near the porch, and a charming courtyard will welcome you to savor the homemade ice cream. It is an address that we already know very well since it has existed for many years in Pouilly-sur-Loire. Strengthened by its success, Céline Robert, the manager, opened in October 2021 this second shop in the town centre of Cosne. In place of the former Petit Duc chocolate factory, you will now find the house specialities here. Handcrafted delicacies such as macaroons, blue road cobblestones, or nougatines.
