PROMONTOIRE DE MACONDÉ
Read moreOn the scenic southern coastal road, rightly considered one of the most beautiful on the island, the rocky promontory of Macondé is a natural site well known to Mauritians, many of whom stop here. From the top of the rocky outcrop and its belvedere, easily reached by a flight of steps, the view opens out onto the immensity of the ocean (there is no coral reef here), the basalt cliffs lining the asphalt and the superb bay formed by the mouth of the river. Take a selfie or romantic photo at sunset.
LA PLACE DU MOULIN
Read moreWhen you arrive at Bel Ombre's main traffic circle, the one serving the Château, its golf course and villas on one side, and the hotels on the other, you catch sight of this vast and beautiful complex steeped in history, which has benefited from superb renovation. These are the remains of the former sugar factory, whose stone walls, arches, turbines and old objects tell the story of another era (educational panels) and form a highly photogenic industrial tableau. The site is already home to the World of Seashells, a seashell museum.
