PROMONTOIRE DE MACONDÉ

On the scenic southern coastal road, rightly considered one of the most beautiful on the island, the rocky promontory of Macondé is a natural site well known to Mauritians, many of whom stop here. From the top of the rocky outcrop and its belvedere, easily reached by a flight of steps, the view opens out onto the immensity of the ocean (there is no coral reef here), the basalt cliffs lining the road and the superb bay formed by the mouth of the river.
