In the middle of winter, many of the villages in the bocage of western Orléans are lit up at night: a magical, magnificent atmosphere!
Word of mouth and, above all, the involvement of hundreds of volunteers give rise to a magical spectacle every December. The Villages Illuminés are, as the name suggests, the enchantment of the end-of-year festivities set alight. The villages, located in the west of the department, are in the Flers and Domfront areas, and even in a few communes in the south of Calvados, mainly. This sublimated heritage, coupled with individual initiatives, gives the Normandy bocage a fairytale feel at night.
