The Cherbourg Sailing School, which totals no less than 1,500^m2 of usable space spread over two levels, has a reception hall, classrooms, changing rooms, staff offices, school users' premises and the rowing club. The school welcomes children from the age of 6, is open for school holiday courses, sea classes, provides departmental dinghy training, sports instruction, or licence training.

Since 1984, the Barneville-Carteret Rowing Club has been located in the harbour. It offers an introduction to sea rowing in solo, double, and coxed four. Near the slipway, access to the sea is easy. If the sea is rough, rowers can retreat to the harbour. The club has been organising races for several years, notably the Jersey-Carteret, to cover 15 nautical miles, over 2 days. Notice to experienced sportsmen, but also to those who are less used to it: here, it is for everyone!

The Barneville-Carteret nautical centre offers a wide range of services. Vests and wetsuits are available for hire. The school offers a full range of sailing and seafaring activities. From ages 4 to 6, little ones are welcomed to the sea garden. From 6 to 8, the little mousses climb aboard the Walker Bay, from 8 to 12 the Optimist and from 9 to 14 the Collective 316. As soon as you reach the right age, you'll embark on a 420, catamaran, windsurf or fun board. Our experienced staff will give you a warm welcome.

Whether the urge of the moment is leaning towards a walk aboard an old rigging, a crossing to the islands of Chausey, Jersey, Guernsey and Sark, a yacht rental, a stay in thalassotherapy or simply a problem of accommodation in Granville and its region, the nautical resort is there for that! The place is certified 4 stars and its place in the hexagonal nautical landscape is recognized.

The Pôle Plongée Normandie association is part of the FFESSM and operates from the port of Cherbourg or, more often, from the Collignon leisure center. Pôle Plongée Normandie offers management training and everything you need to dive in the best possible conditions: boat, equipment, inflation station, changing rooms, classrooms... For your safety, our equipment is renewed every two years, and our supervisors adapt to your needs. The Pôle Plongée trains and explores the Cotentin seabed.
