Situated in front of the Zurriola beach, this bakery is the meeting point for those who worship good bread. Excellent cakes and madeleines at the counter (including an absolutely divine brownie!), coffee prepared according to the rules of the art, and above all beautiful country bread balls make the reputation of the place. In the basement, the "Bistro" area is popular with local hipsters for brunch and delicious sandwiches. Several addresses throughout the region, including in Irún (Colon Ibilbidea, 50) and Zarautz (Zigordia Kalea, 12).

Since 1886, this pastry shop has been a reference in San Sebastián, with five establishments throughout the city (the Parte Vieja is the most famous!). Today, the third generation of the Otaegui family continues to delight gourmets with its traditional Otaegui panchineta, a cake made of puff pastry and cream, covered with small pieces of toasted almonds. The house is also famous for its homemade turrón, huesos de santo (literally "saint's bones", made from marzipan), Russian cake and Basque cake.

CASA ECEIZA

Bread cakes chocolates ice cream

Traditional house founded in 1924, famous for its famous tiles (tejas) and cigarettes (cigarillos) from Tolosa, sold in pretty metal boxes. It was Luis Eceiza, son of the founder, who imagined these delicious biscuits for the restaurant Asador Julian! You can also try the "bombas", a kind of doughnut filled with custard or whipped cream, which the locals enjoy for breakfast and snacks. The house also offers a fine selection of turrones, most of which are chocolate-based!

The prestigious pastry shop from Saint-Jean-de-Luz has been treating Donostiarras since the summer of 2017, with the opening of this branch in the Plaza de Euskadi, opposite the Santa Catalina Bridge. As in the 1895 mother house, Basque delicacies, turrón and chocolates are served here. Among its specialities: the divine muxus, soft sweets made from crushed almonds, similar to macaroons; the kanougas, delicious soft and melting caramels; but also the Basque cake with almond cream or black cherries!
