The most beautiful natural sites to discover Northern Mexico

On the island of Crestón, near the port, at an altitude of 157 metres. Since 1571, it has performed its functions as the world's highest natural lighthouse after Gibraltar. Potrero Chico Park, in the Sierra Madre Oriental, is considered one of the 10 best climbing sites in the world. It has many walls, some of which exceed 610 metres of vertical drop. There are dozens of routes, both for advanced climbers and beginners. The landscapes surrounding the canyon are sublime: those who do not wish to climb can always go to make a small fright by observing the mammals hanging on the walls. A park of several hectares where many exotic trees and plants are planted, some from Africa and Australia. This garden was formerly part of the property of Benjamín F. Johnston, which founded the sugar refinery around which the city of Los Mochis developed; it was he who had the idea in the late 1920 s to create a garden with plants around the world. This park serves as a refuge for many bird species - according to some estimates, there would be more than 90 - which makes it all the more attractive. 

The Paseo de Santa Lucía is an artificial canal that was inaugurated in 2007. With its many fountains and beautiful lighting, it is the ideal place for a walk or barge trip. The canal starts from the Plaza de Los 400 Años and leads to the Parque Fundidora, a former steel mill that has been converted into a large park that houses centres for artistic creation and dissemination and leisure activities. It is one of the city's most emblematic places for local families.

This is a trip you shouldn't miss from Creel or on your way to Batopilas.
