The ventilated huts with toilets and shower unfortunately fall into disuse. The reception is nevertheless friendly, the international cuisine is acceptable. It is an excellent starting point to venture into the park but also to discover the region, as the camp offers walks, dugout canoes, mountain bikes and 4x4 with bivouac.

A simple and authentic camp in the middle of nowhere, in the heart of Bassari country. The huts with traditional architecture are scattered on a green ground, overhanging magnificently the Gambia river. The comfort is rudimentary, but the camp operates on solar electricity. In this naturally peaceful setting, people take their time in the Senegalese way and enjoy convivial moments. Badou Camara, a young and friendly Senegalese, also offers dugout canoe rides, hikes and visits to the surrounding villages.

The camp, located in front of the Bédik district of Bandafassi, is rustic but enchanting, since it is set almost at the foot of the mountain. There is no running water, but a well that offers you its precious liquid for bucket showers in private sanitary facilities. Here you can spend pleasant moments with a book in your hands, letting yourself be lulled by the chirping of the birds. It is also an ideal starting point for exploring the region and discovering the Bédik country.

In 2006, the young people of Dialacoto opened this camp with the help of the NGO ICD Afrique, to stem the exodus to the city. The GIE structure also works to protect the environment and combat logging. The huts are simple, the outdoor showers decent, but the camp is unfortunately falling into disuse. Renovations were underway at the time of our report. You can, however, stop off for lunch - the food is delicious!

Nestled in the heart of the Niokolo Koba Park, this hotel, which had been abandoned for a few years, was taken over by the owners of the Oasis Oriental Club hotel in Tamba. It was in the process of being rehabilitated at the time of our visit, and about twenty comfortable rooms and huts were already operational. It is located on the banks of the Gambia River from where dugout canoe trips are organized. Birdwatching enthusiasts will be pleased with a viewpoint overlooking a waterhole frequented by many species of birds, about 200 meters from the hotel.
