Caving Pyrénées-Atlantiques

Every first Wednesday of the month, the 45 members of the club meet to decide on their next outings, especially in the Pyrenees-Atlantic. The Leize Pelayo club practice as much as caving, hiking and climbing.

Sainte-Engrâce, in the Urdatx-Santa-Grazi region, is home to the Association pour la Recherche Spéléologique Internationale à la Pierre Saint-Martin (ARSIP). This association coordinates caving activities in the Pierre Saint-Martin - Larra karst region. For caving enthusiasts, ARSIP offers a unique opportunity to explore the region's underground galleries.

Arudy, a town in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region, offers caving enthusiasts the chance to discover the region's underground wonders thanks to the Groupe Spéléologique de la Vallée d'Ossau. The club offers caving activities for all levels, supervised by experienced professionals. Enthusiasts can explore the region's caves and caverns, and discover unique underground landscapes. The Groupe Spéléologique de la Vallée d'Ossau also offers training courses for those wishing to perfect their caving skills.

The Évasion Pyrénéenne association is committed to protecting the environment. Founded in 1988, it is a registered Nature Protection and Jeunesse et Sports organization. Its main objective is environmental education, by raising public awareness of the need to discover and preserve nature. Through its activities, the association aims to improve everyday habits in favor of our natural heritage.

With 12 members in 2012, the independent club Spelexpo organizes exploration raids for speleologists confirmed in three major caves of the Pyrenees-Atlantic. Especially in the Massifs and Urkulu mountains. And some members leave Laos every year for explorations in the impressive networks in the region.

Alexis, who has been a caving enthusiast for over 15 years, takes you off the beaten track into his mineral universe, which holds no secrets. Specialized in caving and canyoning, you'll discover the mountain environment in complete safety, in both summer and winter conditions. His playground is near Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, 50 km from Bayonne. When it comes to canyoning (towards Mauléon or Tardets), aquatic trekking is fun too. Depending on your mood and your level of fitness, you can discover the splendours of the mountains.
