To the east of the square, on the main street, the cooperative «Estrella de Propilei» produces beautiful tissages.

As its name indicates, this cooperative of textiles dyed with natural plants is managed by the welcoming Paulina - who speaks a little French. In addition to selling the creations of about sixty artisans of the village, she organizes group visits of her workshop, that of Ceramica Mayan as well as of a nearby chocolate factory. An opportunity to learn about the production methods and specificities of each craft. Not to be missed! You can also have lunch in Paulina's restaurant, near the store, with a breathtaking view of the lake.

This cooperative of about 50 women is dedicated to dyeing yarns with natural colors. They are then used to weave beautiful textiles with the community's own designs, which can be purchased in the association's store.
