GOVERNOR'S BASTION
Read moreThis imposing bastion is one of the few remains of the 17th-century wall that once surrounded the town of Cuitadella. Although its origins date back to the 14th century, after the town became part of the Catalan-Aragonese Crown, the wall was largely rebuilt after the Turkish invasions of 1558, albeit along the original line. Overlooking the harbor, the bastion offers visitors a breathtaking view of its sparkling waters. The town hall now occupies the interior of the former ramparts.

The latter is the only prehistoric wall preserved in its entirety in which the talayotic construction system and the later square towers attached to it can be distinguished.
