CHÂTEAU ROMANIN

Winery
5/5
1 review

It is a very beautiful cellar, located in a place full of history. Château Romanin produces a wine of character unanimously acclaimed, in white, red and rosé. But, in addition to the product, the discovery of the place is also worth it. You can feel the passion of the staff and their enthusiasm is felt throughout the visit. Of course, tastings and explanations are on the program and the store, perfectly staged, is at your disposal to make your purchases. Last but not least, the wine is raised in biodynamic culture.

MAS DE GOURGONNIER

Here, organic farming is a way of life anchored in the family culture. According to their "Nature et progrès" specifications, the vines and olive trees do not receive any chemical treatment, insecticide or herbicide, and this since 1975! A semi green manure and a compost of sheep manure constitute the soil amendment where copper and sulphur protect the vegetation. It's hard to imagine anything healthier. On the spot, you can walk between vineyards and olive trees thanks to a signposted route starting from the mas. Very bucolic...

DOMAINE DES TERRES BLANCHES

Winery

Located in a beautiful setting at the foot of Alpilles, Domaine des Terres Blanches has been cultivated in organic farming since its creation. Ask for some explanations at the estate (5-minute drive from the centre of Saint-Rémy towards Eygalières). And then, since you are there, you will be tempted by a free tasting within the brandnew wine shop where Isabelle and Jennifer wait for you. A vault with fancy decoration where noble materials mix together: wood, metal... You will also find on the spot a selection of local products. Also use your visit to take a stroll (free tour of the vineyard with companion guide). On arrival of these waymarked walks (which lasts approximately one hour), the natural vine culture and the vinification methods will no longer be a secret to you.

Fabrice is driven by a love of the land passed on to him by his father, André, which naturally led him to the practice of organic farming (his certification dates back to 1998). Three domains, three appellations: AOC Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, IGP Alpilles, and vin de Pays des Alpilles. You can find them at the Cave de Longchamp.

MAS SAINTE BERTHE

Winery

This former farm has existed since the 1539 th century, and acts attest to its presence in. Four centuries later, in 1950, the domain is bought by the David family, which gradually makes a wine-growing area: The cellar was opened in 1976. Today, Mas Sainte-Berthe produces red, rosé and white. The vineyard is conducted in a reasoned and reasonable fight. The winemakers observe, listen and celebrate the aesthetic of their situation at the feet of the Castle of Leases cliff. The fruit is treated and the vinification is courteous, in the benevolent respect of the grapes. The Rosé wine A.O.C. Les Baux-de-Provence Passe combines five varieties, Grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, cinsault and cabernet sauvignon. It's a rosé in the nose of dominante berries and in the mouth ample mouth.

DOMAINE DE LAUZIÈRES

Winery

After more than a decade of work, the Domaine de Lauzières (on the D 24, 6 km from Mouriès) gradually restored its past chandelier. A loyal clientele of ecnophiles, haute gastronomy, hotel and specialized press make it honor. In a wild valley, between cultures of olive trees and pines of Alep, 31 hectares of grape varieties of the Midi - syrah and mourned - are cultivated and old grenaches of remarkable finesse. Great red of the Baux, the cuvée Solstice is a wine with silky tannins, perfumed with licorice. DOMAINE DALMERAN

Winery

It is a beautiful wine estate that produces gourmet wines, but also quality olive oils. Planted on a hill and bordered by the via Domitia, Dalmeran is a magnificent property, on which Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsault are happily grown. The welcome by the owners is pleasant. They are obviously passionate people who like to share their passion and of course the product of their work. Same thing for the olive oils, declined in green and black. A nice visit in perspective.

DOMAINE DE LAGOY

Wine Cellar Wine House

It produces one of the most interesting organic wines in the Alpilles PGI. At the Domaine de Lagoy, established as a marquisate at the beginning of the 18th century and controlled by a castle classified as a historical monument, the descendants of the Meyran family, who have owned the property for nearly 340 years, run an 18-hectare vineyard planted in 1976, which has been converted to organic farming since 2001. In the cellars of the estate, red, rosé and white wines are produced and sold for export, but also in the store located on the Boulevard Marceau, in downtown Saint-Rémy.

DOMAINE GUILBERT

Winery

Domaine Guilbert is the story of the smallest estate in the appellation, with 6 hectares of vines planted around a Provencal farmhouse and cultivated organically. In 2007, Guy and Nathalie left their city, their job and their habits to put all their energy into a project: to do everything with their hands on the estate. After two years of apprenticeship, the roles were naturally distributed: Guy is in the vineyards and in the cellar; Nathalie speaks about the wine, markets it and has created its image and reputation.

DOMAINE MILAN

Organic store

The wines are excellent, in red, rosé and white, and this is what you expect when you go to a winery. In addition, the welcome is perfect and the staff really pleasant. But what also characterizes the wines of this domain is the philosophy that presides over their elaboration, in total harmony with nature. They are organic wines, both in the assembly, without adding sulphur, and in the cultivation of the vines which are worked taking into account many parameters, including the lunar cycles. A very nice taste experience.

It is Frédéric who welcomes you to this pretty stylish boutique, with its "vintage" accents. The man knows his products perfectly and will be able to guide you in your choices.
You will discover, through the displays, a wide choice of wines from the Alpilles, of course, but also from elsewhere: Bordeaux, Burgundy... you only have to ask.
Fans of the genre will also find, at Frédéric's, a wide range of beers and champagnes, but also, more surprisingly, many small objects found in the flea markets around, which will constitute as many gift ideas.

Whether you're looking for a grand cru for an exceptional occasion, a nice wine for a party between friends or a strong alcohol to finish a business dinner, there's a lot to bet you'll find your happiness in the Fine Wine cellar. Indeed, with 1,500 references, the establishment is a real cavern of Ali Baba for epicureans and one could almost say for historians, since there are raw wines in 1819. If traveling to this place is a real pleasure, it is also possible to get its purchases by mail, fax or telephone.
