Open from breakfast to aperitif, t'Koethuis is famous for its waffles (they're always among the best on the coast), but its brasserie menu doesn't leave you indifferent either. You can enjoy pasta, salad or solettes. While the interior is warm and inviting in winter, it's the courtyard - all decked out in flowers and lit up at night - that steals the show. Little do we know that the restaurant's rather banal façade conceals this marvel.

More than 100 years ago, great-grandfather Callewaert ran a small fishermen's café along the canal. Already eel was a specialty. Today, he has kept this rustic setting, the gingham tablecloths and the eel "in the green" is still present, alongside brewery dishes (wood-grilled meats, carbonade, fresh fish from the North Sea, coq au vin...). Instead of beef, pork cheek is used with a sauce made with Sint-Bernardus 12 beer, a real treat! And don't forget to try one of the house beers.

Push open the door of La Différence, this pretty brasserie on the Grand'Place, one of the city's finest restaurants. Here, you can enjoy French-Belgian cuisine at reasonable prices in an Art Deco setting, marked by superb ceiling heights. Don't miss the spiral staircase. The à la carte scampi à la diabolique appetizer is excellent, while the main course of pork cheek cassolette à la Double Ronsische, pain d'épice and chicory salad is a taste of the country. The atmosphere is friendly.

Unique in Belgium, this rotunda sits at the end of a jetty that plunges more than 300 meters into the sea. Built in 1894, destroyed and restored more than once, the jetty is currently being restored to its 1930s appearance. In the meantime, you can still enjoy its restaurant, with its 360-degree panorama of the sea and beach.
