Read moreDating back to 1830 and renamed in 1945 after Jan Guilini, Belgian swimming champion and World War II resistance fighter, this 25 m-long indoor pool features an Art Deco interior in the style of Paris's beautiful Molitor pool. For the record, Jean Guilini helped rescue 5 British airmen who crashed into the sea off the coast of Blankenberge, before being arrested and executed on May 22, 1944. It's a great place to cool off in summer, when the cobbled streets and canals heat up under the sun.

Ostend is a popular seaside town, with 9 km of sandy beaches and a lively shopping center. It's accessible at both high and low tide, even by deep-draft boats. The town center can be reached on foot (20 minutes) or by bike (7 minutes) from the club. What's more, there's a streetcar stop just 200 meters from the club, with streetcars taking you into town every 15 minutes.
OSTEND SAILING AND RACING CLUB (OSRC)
Read moreThe Ostend Sailing and Racing Club (OSRC) was founded in 1987 with the aim of promoting water sports and boating, in particular catamaran sailing. The club has a site near the Ostend lighthouse, which serves as a boat park and also houses the clubhouse with all amenities (bar, shower, storage areas...). The OSRC offers sailing courses and organizes sailing and powerboat competitions, as well as various water sports events. The association also aims to foster social contacts between its members. It's advisable not to wait too long to sign up, as places fill up quickly. The club also organizes sailing camps for families, called "Young & Younger", which have been very popular. The OSRC also collaborated with the KRNSO to organize the Belgian Championship in Beach Sprint Rowing, a new rowing discipline with great Olympic potential.

Read moreSurfclub Inside Outside is a surf school located in Ostend. It has two locations, one by a lake and the other by the sea. Inside, at the Spuikom, you can learn to windsurf or sail. Outside, the beach atmosphere prevails, with real Belgian surfers. The club offers wing foil courses, a new trend in water sports, as well as equipment hire. Events are also organized, such as the Summer Kick-Off with free introductory courses, music and tastings. The club also offers Easter and summer camps for children, as well as evening classes for adults.
