LES AUBETTES
Read moreAt the beginning of the 18th century, fishermen's wives sold fish on the Minck, at the foot of the Leughenaer tower and right next to the fishing boats. In 1863, a covered market was built on the Minck. In 1902, a superb building was inaugurated and became the fish market, where the Bazennes (fishermen's wives) boasted the quality of their products. The building did not survive the war, but it is still possible to buy freshly landed fish at unbeatable prices at the aubettes! Four aubettes are regularly open.
