Funiculars and cable cars Route de la soie

The cable car, which connects Mount Tochal, part of Velnejak Avenue, north of Evin. Allow 30 min to cover 7,5 km. Seven intermediate stations occur before arrival (tea house). Youth unpacks on this mountain path. From the last station (restaurant), several hiking possibilities, including climb up to the peak of Tochal (3 933 m). Attention, even at the height of the summer, it is cool at this altitude. Superb views of Tehran. On the other side of Mount Damavand, the forest that begins shortly afterwards goes down to the Caspian Sea. During the winter, three ski runs are open to the public. Built in 1929, the Montegalletto elevator provides access to the heights of Genoa. The system is unique in Europe, and operates in a highly ingenious way. First, a small cabin transports you like a funicular along the rails of a horizontal gallery for around 300 meters... then suddenly, the gallery is embedded in a cavity, and the click: the cabin rises gently and is immediately transformed into an elevator! A unique experience well worth the detour, if only to experience the ingenuity of the mechanism.
